Is Dvorak turning into a legit 1st line center? He has been very good.

Anything is possible, he’s really a beast in his own way and potting points is what will help him ascend, if he stays responsible defensively. Absolutely love the kids stoic nature, as well.
Doan stated on more than one occasion that DVO has the most talent of any play on the team, or something to that effect. This is the magical fifth year for DVO, so hopefully he breaks out big time this year.

Dvo was close to hitting my projections last year before the season shut down. I don’t think he will become a legit number one, but elite number 2 center is doable. Still think he’s gonna hover around great 2nd line center.

and that’s totally fine :)

Really can’t afford to lose him. We have so little defensive depth.

I would rather lose him than Gross. It would hurt to lose him, but he has shown nothing at the NHL level to warrant a roster spot. I know you don't like Bush, but he has proven himself in the NHL already and is still young. Would love to add Dunn.

He just hasn't shown much of anything in any of the chances he’s had. gross has outplayed him. Oesterle is better. I know this is a gamble that we will lose Copiobianco but thats why waivers are there. If he's not good enough for our team. Maybe he’s good enough for someone else's.

Bush plays 3 games we satisfy our eligibility requirements for exposed players for expansion draft. Capobianco needs to play 25 games before that box is checked. Issue we have now is we only have 2 D worth protecting under contract. Unless we protect Saarijarvi?

Bush and Gross are both RD. If Capo gets claimed our best depth D on the left side is Ness. Yuck.

Vince Dunn for Columbus 2nd?

i don’t think anyone will claim Capo. Over half the league doesn't currently have the cap space. Just takes one though....

He will probably end up in Seattle anyways.

We still need Bush’s physicality. We’re better this season, but still not physical enough on the blue line without Bush on the 3rd pairing.

OEL

Oesterle

Are all natural lefties who have played there, even though we use three of them them on the right side. I still think handedness is just a trend. Play your best defensemen. They'll adapt.

Capo hasn't shown enough to really be upset if he gets picked up, which I doubt will happen. He's like Kconn level right now. We could another player like him with ease.

If we resign Oesterle we're fine on the left side. He's good for a 3rd pairing dman. He's really impressed me this year going from 7D at the start of his time here to looking comfortable with top 4 minutes.

Our hole for the future is in the top4 on the right side.

I agree, but Bush will probably not help in this regard. The Coyotes are playing an ultra passive box formation where only 1 player pressures the puck at a given time, everyone else mostly stands around at their designated spot in passing lanes ready to break the other way if there's a turnover. Most teams are not having any trouble passing around this while looking for an opening.

Right now, the team is being coached well enough. The 5v5 counts show that the Coyotes generate a lot of raw chances, including quality chances, but they convert at a super low rate.

HDCF/60 - 4th
HDGF/60 - 28th
HDSH% - 30th

The Blues, the team the Coyotes are about to play, literally shoot 4x better on their HD attempts as a point of comparison.

I think it's part raw talent, part mindset. If Kessel and some other guys can find their shot again, this team will be in a pretty good place. They have the team playing like you should if you are short on forward talent but have great goalies. Somebody new in management or the coaching staff knows what they are doing, and that's really encouraging moving forward.

I think the Sens D could use Capo

Eh. Chabot, Reilly, Coburn, Wolanin. Brannstrom available for recall in the A. Plus whoever is on their taxi squad.

If Capo gets claimed, it's unfortunate, but not too rough. Everybody has youngish defensemen who aren't polished, but might step in. Honka has a better pedigree and cleared. The guys who have been claimed all have more games played under their belt.

I wonder what the cost would be. I'd like him to take Caggiula s spot in the lineup. Adds some depth at C if there's an injury or to swap with Brassard. Over 100 hits a year too. Seems like he would be a BA guy

Odd situation for the Flames. One of their top performers in playoffs but can barely make lineup during regular season. I don't think they can expect a big return?? Maybe a prospect or vet in a position they need?
