Would be an awkward fit.

Pitlick and Caggiula were both better pickups, especially for the money and given that they were free. There's nobody I'd demote in favor of Bennett, even if you could find a way to fit his salary and send something the other way.

In what way beyond being mean? Bennett costs twice as much, doesn't play defense nearly as well, and takes oodles of dumb penalties. Hayden already plays this role for 750k and he has gotten 9 minutes of ice this season.

It wouldn't be the end of the world as a swap but that's a net loss 5v5. And I doubt Bennett would be thrilled to be playing on a 4th line with Larsson. Fischer is quietly playing his part while being cheaper and it seems like the coaches are pretty happy with him overall, despite the lack of production from that line.

I like the long term value of Bennett. I’d also keep adding centres. He might be easier to fit into the roster next year. Could also give options to move on from guys.

Bennett is primarily a physical winger at this point. And with Schmaltz - Dvo - Hayton down the middle, they are set for now.

I'd swap Demers for him if Calgary was into that.

Mete plays both sides, can take dzone starts, is dirt cheap and is 22. I would love to have this player to avoid a scrambly summer and to free up trading Goose/Goligoski/Hammer even sooner.

How BA feels about the personalities of all the guys in rumors is going to play a big part of AZ even asking about them. That's nice to know.

They are playing well right now, not going to make a trade just to make a trade.

Just doing a simple 1 for 1 lineup swap and I think Bennett on the top line would be better than Caggiula.

We're going to have some injuries at some point too. Then having Caggiula over Hayden as the 13F is an improvement if a skilled guy goes down. Play Hayden instead if it's a more physical guy.

Personalities like XX said is a factor though, maybe it could upset the balance scratching Caggiula. He's buddies with Schmaltz.

Yah I agree, I want Hayton as 1LW too. If that happens then move Bennett to 3C, Brassard on the wing on line 2 or 3.

I think our lineup as a whole would be better with Bennett than Caggiula.

Bennett and Crouse are former junior teammates. I wonder if Bennett would help Crouse reach that next level. He does everything pretty good, he’s just a little too much of a friendly giant. Needs to play meaner.

Because they are probably going to move a D because of the X-draft, and they are short on offensive talent. Makes a great deal of sense to me considering our blueline status next year.

Outside of trading Goligoski and potentially Demers, I'd prefer to leave most of the roster alone at this point though I do think Carolina would be a great trading partner.
