I agree. But people first, then businesses. Where you are, it may (currently) be more about the economic impact than the human. But have you read the reports/seen the images from NYC?
There are many instances where people first, can come from putting business first. Hate to put it that way, but it's true. If the businesses do not get bailed out, that will devastate a lot of people. And I am not talking about the business owners. I mean the people that work the business, whose livelihood entirely depends on it.

Totally agreed.

I just believe you need to put requirements in place to make sure that this is what actually happens. (And don't understand what the resistance is to doing so.)

Otherwise... again, just look to the '08 bailout.

TheHill: Cuomo: We have to plan to 'pivot back to economic functionality'. Cuomo: We have to plan to 'pivot back to economic functionality'

Sounds like Cuomo is also itching to get people back to work.

I do not see this lockdown going much longer. The political willpower is not going to be there with this much economic devastation. This week is out and likely next week too but after that I think we'll see most of the workforce back in action.

We shall see. I certainly understand – and empathize with! – the instinct. There's no question that the isolation is devastating both from an economic and a mental health POV. But we're also going to start seeing worse and worse images from hospitals, and more and more reports from people's own lives. It will be interesting to see how the two dynamics interact.

I hope and pray whatever direction it does, is best for everyone.

Small businesses need a lot of help. Lots of them will go under. Just where I live 3 businesses have all but posted that they're done because of this. My mother's business will probably go under. Luckily my wife works for the crime lab so her job is safe.
It's not that small businesses don't need the help, it's just that they're trying to tie helping out small businesses together with the larger corporations, which need different help from one another.

We're having to submit timesheets to HR via PDF since we don't have access to the internal time recording system. My subordinate has submitted it to me incorrectly five times. I'm gonna f***ing lose it

In your subordinates defense when I worked for the city we had some ancient time keeping program that I screwed up regularly even after months of using it lol

This is a new employee who just got access to our timesheet system but I hadn't been in the office with them to teach how to use it. I filled out the form and took a screenshot, all she had to do was copy it verbatim... one more try and then i'm printing it and using white out

Can't wait for the coming shift of "are we really going to tank the economy to save 2% of the population?" Maybe we just send people back to work and deal with the fallout.

It's coming. Watch for it tonight.

It's absolutely coming and you will see officials on both sides of the political spectrum jumping on that train. It just took a little bit of time for big business and the banks to get their lobbying strategy in place but now that they've got it together I believe we are going to see a shift.

I would hope that anyone who says such a thing realizes that a family member or loved one could easily be in that 2%. It would be a callus, cold, terrible thing to say. :shakehead

i can’t think of anything more irresponsible than wiping out all off our health experts while putting all Americans in danger.

Yeah but that's a good thing.

It's also definitely not "2%". Lol. The mortality rate is plummeting now that testing kits are becoming available. What a shocker.
