This is all from preliminary info, so there may be language which helps me understand more, yet

Grants for the airline industry? I may be incorrectly assuming that includes Boeing?

This was just yesterday

Boeing CEO does not want U.S. to take stake in company after coronavirus stimulus

Why the grant instead of a loan?

Also 365 day no stock buy back? Is there a provision they must pay back the loan first, or can they just take out the likely very low rate loan then in a year use that for stock buy backs?

This small business market place, how long is it going to take to get through that bureaucracy?

Yes that is a rant based on incomplete info, I just am not sure how comfortable those things make me feel.

Here's what’s in the $2 trillion coronavirus stimulus deal for businesses

China shows way to ease lockdowns before vaccine, says report

Neil Ferguson is probably the top epidemic out there.

How to reopen the society:
*Get cases down by isolation.
*Test the heck out of everyone when you open up.
*Track and isolate.

That isn’t easy and probably take longer to get to than what is doable in the coming weeks.

that should definitely be the plan...the issue remains though being able to provide enough testing to do that. if they could test everyone and then isolate the infected, then they could remove the lockdown for everyone. the problem now is that they can't test everyone so its easier to assume everyone needs to be isolated. question is how long does it take to get to that point...

Any poster here living in NYS and particularly in the NYC, Westchester and Long Island areas--do not go to church on Easter Sunday like the POTUS has been advocating for. He's not paying proper attention to what's going on---maybe he should visit a hospital.

Particularly for you Bernmeister who I get as kind of religious who has just had heart surgery a few weeks ago. This thing is far from over and I think there's good reason to believe it's going to get worse and maybe even a lot worse. Don't take unnecessary chances.

Where did Trump say to go out on Easter to Church? He is saying he HOPES and WISHES things will be back to normal by then and we can. Even then quoted saying “I’m not sure that will be the day, but it would he a beautiful thing” and “We’ll only do it if it’s good”.

Spreading fake news at it’s finest on the HFBoards

Los Angeles is officially Stay-At-Home until April 30. And Mayor Garcetti says residents should expect it to be extended until May 31 at the earliest.

Mother's coworker has a best friend whose husband works at Montefiore in the Bronx... they're totally out of ventilators and are turning away symptomatic people

And the Bronx is not even slammed at this point like other areas... Elmhurst Hospital looks like it's bordering on the breaking point. One of their ER doctors, Colleen Smith, M.D., has been putting out a lot of videos that everyone should watch.

He is saying whatever the opposite of Trump says. There’s very little chance they keep the city on lock down for that long without some level of militant enforcement.
He has a solid track record with the homeless there too. They’ve spent like 600 million to combat it only to have it increase. Brilliant fella
Sorry to digress.

I would also tend to doubt that. The reality is that, and Trump is just saying it poorly, even if you forgo the effects on economics, if you isolate people for that long the rates of suicide, depression, divorce and domestic violence spike dramatically. Not to mention that people's health decline just as dramatically. Now bring in the fact that if you do that, forget about a recession, you are now talking about a depression. People waiting on bread lines type of thing.

So no, I do not expect the lockdown to go on that long. I actually think that we are in the heart of things right now with the end of next week as the most likely peak of the bell curve. The towards the end of April, I would expect to see things begin to re-open back up. Not everything at first. But rather a slow trickle that will last into May.
