maybe i'm just unaware of where to find them but I really wish that there was more details about the number of tests not just the number of confirmed cases & deaths. NY has half of the nation's cases but how many more tests?

I think NJ is 2nd in the nation with 3600 cases but according to NJ.com that is out of 12,000 test which is 27%....and you consider that they are pre-screening and only testing people with symptoms that % is lower than I expected.

its bad enough that we have no idea how many of the 'new cases' are newly infected people meaning its spreading vs people that have had it but just couldn't get tested...but you also have people in lots of states thinking its not that bad there when there is a good chance that the numbers are low cause they aren't testing but the % if they did would be similar.

I'm thinking lately we're going to need to look at each state or region as an individual European country. Listen to our Governors and local officials. And it's possible that as NY and our area reaches our peak that other parts of the country will still be significantly behind and then we can start to see improvement in NY but other states will still have their peak ahead of them. Could see a scenario where we can slowly start sheltering in place being rolled back while other states are still in lockdown and stuff like that. Just a thought.

Are they restricting state to state travel? Seems like they may need to if we start to see improvement in certain states while others are still getting worse.

Pretty obvious to me that with Trumps decree again today that the "US will be open for business by Easter" which flies in the face of what the medical community is saying meaning that the social distancing that has been in place for the past week and lockdowns like in stats like PA where I reside will be relaxed, that Governors like Cuomo in NY and Newsome in CA and possibly some other Governors will likely not go along with Trump on this and it's going to create a bigtime shit storm.

It's so obvious that this is what is going to occur that you could write the headlines right now and it's almost 3 weeks away....ugggggg!!!

I’ve spoken to about 8-10 cops who’ve tested positive. A couple of guys had relatively severe symptoms like a bad flu but so far all are well and improving.

We need to be smart, but also keep the panic in check people. Ranting and raving about what Trump may or may not do isn’t going to help anyone. Just look out for you and yours and be respectful of others space.

When Dan Patrick the Lt. Gov of Texas says he's willing to die to save the economy and other older Americans should feel the same.......let's keep something in mind......if Dan Patrick gets sick Dan Patrick is going to get help......he's not going to have a problem getting tested and he's going to the head of the line when it comes to first class treatment. This guy is full of shit up past his eyebrows.

Some good news, folks:

Hopefully the restrictions on the airline and cruise ship and other industries will prove strong enough. I'm a bit skeptical on that part of it. Also people like the president or his family or members of congress and their families should not be able to reap personal benefit out of any of this.

I also think there may need to be a a subsequent or subsequent stimulus package(s) in the relative near future. I wonder what Andrew Yang is thinking right now. This could turn into a real time Universal Basic Income experiment. When all this is all over I think there is going to be a need to amnesty a lot of debt besides. Student loan companies--get ready--I'm looking right at them. Credit Card companies too. We are going to have to take a serious look at restructuring our entire economy into something much fairer than it has been.

This is great news. The best way to prevent corruption? Cut it off before it even starts.

As I understand it, it seems like they are adding an IG of sorts to oversee the spending of these funds. Should provide some good transparency as to how they are appropriated and used.

And this is why the delay was necessary. This is a 2+Trillion dollar piece of legislation, you needed extra time to secure these extra provisions.

Obviously still a long way to go. If things peak in the next 2-3 weeks and testing is more widespread and we can get some real data in we may find that a majority of the country has herd immunity. That would go a long way to restarting everything including professional sports. We need widespread, portable, fast & reliable testing. That is the most important thing right now.

Yes--we do need to make sure there is some kind of enforcement.

We need all of that but we'll also need a vaccine or a drug that really works. There are questions about immunity and reinfection. Whether a person is asymptomatic or doesn't really get very sick it's still really contagious---that's a big part of this issue.
