This must be why Dr. Fauci is missing, because that's insanity and no epidemiologist would sign off on that.

Either that or he has been absent because of his facepalm on live tv embarrassing Trump.

He needs to be there. Who is advising the president that this is a good idea? Barr?

Edit: This is insanity.
Mnuchin is advising the president that Trump and his friends need to make money.

He doesn't give a single flying f*** if it's "a good idea."

Then dont come to this thread? Every page I see you having a meltdown. If something is causing you such stress and anxiety, why keep coming and letting yourself get worked up

I stopped coming here for a while actually but I still need some info I can't be completely in the dark and the positive thread only has so much info. This thread became decent for a while, but now I'm getting concerned.

I'm trying to hang in there but what the president just said is absolutely dire. There's no way around it.

It's unprecedented ignorance from a national leader.

So it was a stupid thing to say but do you think he'll follow through with it? Or are you concerned that now people won't take it seriously?

The states still have the authority to place restrictions and hopefully Cuomo sticks with it.

States that listen to Trump are going to be absolutely clotheslined by this.
I'll thank every diety that exists that I live in a state which places the health of its populace over economics, hence the immediate shelter-in-place. I believe, given Cuomo's public comments, that he will do what's right for his constituents.

By his constituents, you mean the people or the banks?

I'm concerned about both.

Trump blows a lot of smoke but he's serious when it comes to money. That's the one thing he's good at and really smart about.

If we halt the economy, extremely rich people are going to be less rich. He's not gonna be happy about that.

The one silver lining is that there's a limit to how much he can actually do. States still have the right to order workforces home. The problem is that states also pay unemployment, they're going to be overwhelmed there, and you can forget about federal aid for that department.

This is going to hurt people who lost their jobs and embolden idiots who think this is business as usual.

What did he say?
He said after "the 15 day period" (which is how long you should quarantine if you're sick and is totally unrelated but try explaining that to him) we'll make a decision on essentially "opening our country back up."

He wants a return to business as usual way, way before experts are saying it's safe.

So do you think he'll follow through with this though? I think people not taking it seriously is bad but not nearly as bad as him following through with this.
