I'm essential too. What I was getting at is we need to go back to what was happening in March. Only go out for work, essentials and medical reasons. There is no reason to go out just to browse cause you're bored. I get it, its not fun staying at home but that's life right now.

people did that back in March because we had no idea how COVID worked and who it would effect.

people can look at stats and make decisions for their own health. People have been doing this for 9 months.

My answer is we should lockdown all of Ontario then since people don't want to listen. I personally have a much harsher thought and I am at the point I wish everyone gets Covid. No one knows long term effects from Covid. My

I wonder if you’d feel the same way if you lost your job and were sitting at home collecting CERB and unemployment not knowing when you’d be able to make your mortgage payment

the majority have tuned out the news because they can read stats... they see if you are under 60 and not in LTC you can take the hit
Ya. It’s true. It sucks for our health care system and those that work in it, but your right that is what the average Joe thinks.

I would cause life is hard sometimes. I'm still of the belief that people should have listened and stopped having family over.

I'm sorry but I'm physically and mentally exhausted from this. Its so frustrating to see so many bitch and complain about measures and being rude to each other.

Hang in there, man. There are not a lot of easy answers to the problems Covid continues to throw our way. One solution just seems to create another problem.

People like to talk like they've got it all figured out (shouldn't come as a surprise when this is a community made up of people convinced their ideas for line combinations and trade proposals would turn the Leafs into champs).

But the reality is that we are still very much in uncharted waters here and figuring this thing out as we go.

I agree with you that the most important thing we can do is be good to each other--in here and out there!

I'd be demanding for the government for rent/mortgage relief like they've done for small businesses and do my part to not extend the pandemic

I go grocery shopping every day like I used to
if you live very close to a grocery store it's the best way. buy what you need for the day and leave. It's quick and there will be no food wasting away in the fridge or cupboards.

Lol. I shop once a week and never have food waste away.
well I guess we are all different. At one time it seemed I threw out half the fruit and veggies I bought. All sorts of stuff would collect in the cupboard until long after they expired. I prefer to just get what the wife and I decide we want that day.

All of these things can be true, while still acknowledging that many small business owners are assholes who treat their employees like shit

I don't know which small businesses you've been frequenting but I've found them to be very community orientated over the years

They have to be or they go out of business since they struggle to compete on price with big businesses

Before Covid that wouldn't be a problem. Its not just you, I see it every time there is a holiday Monday coming. The amount of people loading up on groceries the day before the holiday and the day after is unreal. Its almost like people panic that they might run out of food. This past weekend was the same in York. The saddest part is grocery stores can stay open during lockdown.

Yeah, I can't stand being in a crowded grocery store for more than a few minutes. I rarely even get a cart. Grab a handful of things, self checkout, in and out in 5-10 minutes.

I'm not allowed to like talking about hockey? You really don't think are high income earners on HFBoards?
Probably hundreds of ex-pros (Maybe even dozens of current ones ), coaches, etc.
I enjoy watching the Leafs, seldom miss a game but the knowledge many people here have makes it seem I barely watch, it is amazing. Makes me believe hockey is or was their livelihood. So yeah there probably is a fair number of people making a million per year or more.
