Idea of the day:

The government should are up with a program that trains and hires a large mass of new by law officers who are only eligible if they lost their jobs/businesses because of covid.

And their sole purpose this to go sniff out and fine the rule breakers who are having massive social gatherings and ruining it for everyone else.

Snitches get stitches.

My dad is in his early 70s, and even he says to me that it's sad that older people are going to unnecessarily die because of the virus, but they are older and it happens (no different than if they caught a flu, fell down or had a heart attack). He knows he is more vulnerable, but he also shakes his head that things are coming to a grinding halt.
No offense but your dad would sing a different tune if he was in the ICU. In fact, all of these antimask/antilock down folks would if they were personally affected by the virus. I want to say it's selfish, but I think it's just a lack of perspective/experience

My dad’s the same way. His business has also been devastated financially in what was suppose to be a few years before his retirement. He’ll be ok though.

My father, like myself, deep down knows all this is for the best. I might be vocal about some of the rules I disagree with and the way small business is getting crushed but at the end of the day I know we can’t just let this virus run freely through our country.

Damn :( -- Tipping point in York Region from Global News ... we should all be so afraid.

Let's look into this tipping point further?

There are 1,335 hospital beds in York.

How many are occupied by patients hospitalized due to or just with covid-19? Drum roll, please... 66.

Yes, 66. Including 7 in ICU.

-- Stay home ya'll - this is outta control

You have no idea how hospital bed capacity works. Stop trying to sound like an expert or smarter than you actually are. I've enjoyed responding to all of your posts. Merry Christmas

Maybe they could go after the people running those skating rinks.

Yeah, a Covid Sturmabteilung = bad idea.

The government would only need to hire them for one night. They can go around throwing rocks through the windows of the unreine Regelbrechers celebrating their religious holiday with family. There's nothing unprecedented about this level of government intrusion. /s

Yeah, I would have a problem if my government was throwing together roving bands of undertrained vigilantes to prosecute governmental policy

In fact I'm pretty sure that's a tool totalitarian communist and fascist governments employ to terrorize they're populations

Can't tell if this response to my sarcastic comment is sarcasm :squint:

How much time do I have left to got shopping?

Still at my desk moving more COVID-19 data ... it never ends.

I guess as a tax payer I'm happy I've taken a 25% hourly pay-cut!

“Listen to the experts”, “Are you an epidemiologist?”, “Maybe you should educate yourself”...

Have a Merry Christmas everyone!

Humber River Hospital in TO yesterday. If this is what overrun looks like, what do they do when things are slow?

Yes, taking a minute to film a short dance during the holidays obviously means that hospitals can't be close to overrun

Nurses doing something to boost morale obviously means they're lazy, right?

Just trying to understand your position
