I liked both endings. By sucks, I ment that I could no longer watch new episodes. My oldest was ok with the succession ending. He found it reasonable in context of thr characters and their overarching personalities. The way he described it to me it seems to make sense.
Justified and the Wire are still on my watch list, I just haven’t gotten around to them for one reason or another.I liked the Succession ending. Reminded me of a Shakesperian King Lear tragedy. Very well acted out. The only negative I have against that show is I have no emotional attachment to any of the characters. It's a fantastic show with great writing, actors, music, etc...but I could not get any attachment into the characters, therefore I can't put it in my top shows of all time. Sopranos, Breaking Bad, The Wire, and a few other shows rank above Succession IMO.
I also enjoyed Barry even though season 4 was a bit underwhelming. Bill Hader pushed the envelope with this show but probably went a bit too far in season 4 which hurt it a bit. It was still solid overall and I would still recommend folks to watch the entire series.
I can't wait for this! I really enjoyed Justified and I hope this lives up to the original show.
It's what Bill Hader wanted I guess. He said in an interview he asked HBO's permission to write season 4 before season 3 aired (pandemic). So it was planned in advance.Barry ending was fine but I really question why they didn't stop at the end of last season. Felt like the natural stop point to me. The whole Gene 180 arc had me just asking why? Not a lot of laughs these past 2 seasons compared to the first and second seasons. Felt like the classic Rescue Me take yourself too seriously after getting some award notice rather than sticking to the drama wrapped in comedy formula that really got them to where they were.
it's next on my list - I just started heavenly deluison and it is great, but super messed up in some waysFirst 4 episodes of Hell's Paradise have been fantastic. Wasn't even on my radar but heard great things, glad I checked it out. Hell's Paradise comes out every Saturday, Demon Slayer every Sunday, it's a great time
They're both shows that usually end up interfering with me trying new shows.Justified and the Wire are still on my watch list, I just haven’t gotten around to them for one reason or another.
Does Justified start off good from the start or does it take a few episodes? They're both shows that usually end up interfering with me trying new shows.
I think I've watched Justified all the way through like 5-6 times now.
I was hooked from the start, but it's basically a modern Western and that kind of stuff almost always gets me. I do think some of the subsequent seasons are better than the first but it's not one of those "you can skip the first season" shows.Does Justified start off good from the start or does it take a few episodes?
Sleep Theory is another good one. (I don’t know Sleep Token)I can't believe I've gone so long without knowing about the band Sleep Token. I just heard about them a few weeks ago and I'm addicted, absurdly good
Hey friends, I have been working on some music and have a new album coming out September 8th. I dropped a single and if everyone has a few minutes to check out some instrumental pop punk, here ya go!
Thank you for listening and the kind words! That was fun. Sort of a jangly Byrds vibe going on there before it really picks up. Very impressive work. If there is one regret I have it is that I have never seriously given the guitar a try but I am pretty sure I don't have any talent for it whatsoever. I can't keep time on a super simple drum pattern and I don't have very steady hands at my age. You should see me putt on an undulating green when I am not sure of the break.
I remember an interview where Ringo explained how he needed to find a hook to keep time in a non-standard song. He explained where he found that spot in Here Comes the Sun which has a tricky time signature and he displayed it (in the riffing after "It's all right") and it was interesting to see that. I am following you on Spotify now. I'll stop following you if I'm so old and uncool I'll alienate the kids. Just let me know your preference.Thank you for listening and the kind words!
It's never to late to master an instrument. I actually am self taught on everything.... I taught myself how to play guitar using Dave Matthews tabs. He plays a really unique style of guitar that's not standard scales and notes.
Also listening to DMB helped me get the hang of time signatures. I just finished up a song that has a 3/4 intro, 4/4 verse, and 7/4 chorus.
Hah I appreciate it! I have 300-600 streams on each of my songs... more than enough for me... not trying to be famous or anything. I just get extremely excited if anyone likes something I put out there.I remember an interview where Ringo explained how he needed to find a hook to keep time in a non-standard song. I'll collab with anyone. I'm having an issue putting together the last two tracks of the album lol I need some ideas! You and @Comparison Ford gonna do a collaboration?
Based on the guitars you use a self compiled version of And Your Bird Can Sing would be a great addition to your sound in my biased view.I'll collab with anyone. I'm having an issue putting together the last two tracks of the album lol I need some ideas!
