I think the series did a great job of making you root for a guy you know is an evil bastard, but at the end of the day he's still an evil bastard that the hero is going to have to take down. But I'm also just kind of over the sympathetic villain thing right now and I'm okay with just a purely evil monster that needs to be taken down. Might have something to do with things that have happened recently.I didn't love the creative choice at the end. I think that pushed him too far over the line to monster and undid a lot of what the series strove for. I understand the decision and in some way it makes sense but it didn't have to be that dark. Just my thought. At least they didn't make him drink kerosene and screw up which Greek myth they were referencing and defraud me with a "Lovecraftian" hype.
