They've given up 5. You filtered for leading by 1. Filter by just leading, and you'll see they've given up a few.

Vancouver scored one last game when they were up 2-0 with 5 seconds left.
still impressive the Oilers have never given up the tying goal to the opposition on a 6-on-5 situation in the Tippett era

He’s saying people act different in the Internet than they do in real life. Which is true but pretty obvious. Otherwise me and my buddies from Calgary probably hate eachother.

Exactly, some of the shit Flames fans say on CalgaryPuck makes that fanbase look like a bunch of complete idiots with no hockey knowledge.

I live in Calgary and most of my buddies are Flames fans, they’re all super passionate about hockey and knowledgeable about the sport. If you push them enough they’ll admit they enjoy watching McDavid and Draisaitl play. They follow most Oilers games, just like most Oilers fans follow Flames games when we’re not playing.

This isn’t the 1980s where guys are brawling outside of the arena after games.

I still think that 140 is possible but 150 might be pretty tough although McDavid is pretty consistent so a slump for him is typically averaging a point per game for a couple of games.

Draisaitl just caught up McDavid in points. Both have 17 Points in 8 Games. But difference is Leon has +/- of +9, while McDavid's +/- is only +2.

Connor McDavid: 8 Games, 17 Points, +/- +2
Leon Draisaitl: 8 Games, 17 Points, +/- +9
Also worth noting (since both are centers):
-> Draisaitl plays almost a minute/gp on the PK (whereas McDavid doesn't)
-> Draisaitl has taken almost twice as many faceoffs as McDavid, with essentially the same win%

It's really hard to believe that Drai and McDavid don't inflate each others point totals. For years now, they've been getting points on over half of each others points. McDavid is the best player in the league, and Drai is #3 at worst. Even if they can both dominate on their own in select games, they're both just too good, and play off of each other so good.

This is usually the case with 99% of people lol. I know some Canuck fans who slam the sh** out of my team even if they are playing well. In person, they talk nothing like they do online. I have actually never met fans of other teams who were rude in person. All nice. Flames, Canucks, etc.

They are on fire right now, but it's bound to slow down.

They have played teams with a collective 26-33-9 record.

They beat the Flames and lost to Philly. Those are the only two teams that are above .500 that they've played this year.

As the schedule stiffens up, the pace will slow.

Playing Vancouver twice, Arizona and Seattle has certainly helped the cause.

If you take out the Oilers 7-1-0 the teams they've played have a collective 26-26-9 record. Which is not a playoff club still, but a respectable point total.

Small sample sizes are small. Who knew?

McDavid and Draisaitl produce against every team they play.

The schedule argument holds no weight and people who rely on it to try and marginalize their production don't have a leg to stand on.

Vegas was projected to win the division (may still) and Van was projected to be fighting us for 2nd (also may still), by many people in the predictions threads. As the schedule progresses you could easily say we will see where teams end up. There's still a lot of variance to be eliminated.

Yeah and those same people said Calgary would finish dead last, so we can take them all with a grain of salt.

I'm not saying they don't produce, they do, obviously. We all know this. I'm just saying that the quality of competition has been pretty easy on the Oilers to start the year.

That and it stands to reason that they are feasting on the PP against weaker competition. Unless you think they will keep up the near 50% conversion rate??

It will get harder as the season wears on.

This isn't revolutionary thinking........

And Seattle was predicted to finish top 2 because of their elite shutdown defense according to *some* advance stats folks. ;)

Nucks fans continue to heavily boo him which is hilarious. It’s so petty and cringe af. It was years ago. As you said, get over it.
Not only that but we had players like Kesler and Burrows who likewise were great players but also did some dubious things

HFoil is our version of CalgaryPuck, with a healthy lead they just wanted people to take runs at Giordano for the end of the 3rd. Very classy

Haha I admit as an Oiler fan that yes i do watch the flames games but only to hopefully watch them lose which unfortunately they haven't done much of yet.

It's too bad McDavid and Draisaitl are products of each other rather than just regular teammates like everyone else.

We can't enjoy this duo. Somehow, there's something flawed about them all the time.
