Never called Ovechkin a loser in my life, he’s one of my favorite players. He repeatedly showed up in the playoffs, when it mattered.
McDavid scored 4 in 4 last playoffs while the opposing goalie was standing on his head and had 9 in 4 two years ago when has he NOT shown up? Did you not see the 3rd game they played where their goalie turned to swiss cheese in the 3rd. Was McDavid supposed to play goalie too?

Let us know when McDavid does something in the playoffs, aside from beating up a bottom-feeding Chicago team that wouldn’t have even been in the playoffs in a normal year.

Crosby is certainly not on the same tier as Jagr or Ovechkin, both of whom have legitimate claim to being a top ten all time player.

People really need to stop confusing the player they thought Crosby could become with the 17 year veteran that played an actual career.
Crosby is 1.27 PPG in his career in regular season and over PPG in playoff.
Jagr is 1.11 PPG in his career in regular season and under PPG in playoff.

Jagr peak season away from Lemieux was 127 points, while Straka had 83 points.
Sidney Crosby peak season was 120 points, while Malkin had 85 points.

"Crosby is certainly not on the same tier as Jagr"

Sure.

Crosby had lots of injury in his career and went throught some Covid and lockout season. What Jagr had on Crosby is longevity.

So going PPG the most recent year wasn't anything? Its also funny that Chicago doesn't count but we can count all the points against Philly that Crosby racked up when they brought basically no defense to the playoffs several times. Also ignored the obvious fact that McDavid is doing really well in the playoffs and isn't the reason the team is losing.

Jagr’s peak season away from Lemieux was 1999-00, 96 points in 63 games. 30 points up on Kovalev. The team was very low on talent, nothing comparable to any team Crosby or McDavid played on. Unless you think Alexei Kovalev and Martin Straka are on par with Malkin, or Draisaitl.

He literally gave the puck away two games in a row during the Winnipeg series last year. Both resulted in losing the game. How much more responsible can you get?

No it was not. We never know what would have happened if Jagr played a full season.

You want to play the pace game? Between 2010-2011 and 2011-2012, Crosby had 103 points in 63 games. And 66 in 41 in that span. He still finished ahead of Letang in 2010-2011 who had 50 points in 82 games and 2nd scorer on Pittsburgh, which is even more impressive.

I’m not playing the pace game, Jagr won the Art Ross while missing almost thirty games and outscored his second closest teammate by 30 points. That is pure dominance.

Crosby was 127th overall in scoring in the season you referenced. Jagr didn’t need hypothetical scenarios to win an Art Ross, he legitimately missed a quarter of a season and still won.

Crosby desperately cling to a three year stretch where the guy couldn’t even finish half a season to point to his greatness. As if Jagr and Ovechkin should be punished for finishing seasons.

Ovechkin has played 172 more regular season games than Crosby and only has 23 more points than him.

There is nothing hypothetical about it, Crosby is definitely in the same tier as Ovechkin.

What's your argument here for Crosby not having a claim to being a top 10 player?

Gretzky, Lemieux, Orr, Howe

Richard, Bobby Hull, Beliveau, Harvey, Lafleur, Jagr.

You could make a case for a guy like Messier easily. Where does Crosby fit in or eventually McDavid since so many people pencil him in? Ovechkin will earn his place in the top ten when he breaks the goal record, although he probably deserves it now.

Since so much of Crosby’s case for being an all time great is predicated on winning, it’s impossible to turn toss out guys like Beliveau and Lafleur or even Messier. Realistically if we’re just talking about personal stats, Marcel Dionne’s stats blow away Crosby’s. Yet one of them happened to be on a great team while the other was literally playing in the Wild West.

Sure, let's compare players from the high scoring 80s to Sidney Crosby.

Absolute BS. Crosby finished tied at 30th in points in 2010-2011, the year he had 66 in 41.

You use false fact to sell your points, I wonder if you can really be trusted for anything you say.
And he was 127th in scoring in 2011-12, the season being discussed. A 30th finish or a 127th finish is not comparable to a guy playing 60 games and winning an Art Ross against everyone else in a full season. McDavid could never do it because his teammate, Draisaitl would pass him, same with Crosby. Jagr was never going to get passed by Kovalev or the Czech contingent.

The season being discussed was clearly 66 in 41, where I pointed he was first pointer of his team ahead of Letang who had 50 lol.

You laughed about Connor McDavid "5 points art ross win", but Jagr art ross leads were:
1995: Tied with Lindros
1998: 11 points lead on Fosberg
1999: 20 points lead on Selanne
2000: 2 points lead on Bure
2001: 3 points on Sakic
Where is the so called dominance over peers that McDavid didn't have for his art ross?

That Kovalev guy scored 95 points in 79 games next season, so yes, he’s on par with Malkin and Drai.

In his first 6 seasons in the league, McDavid ranks 1st in points and outscored 2nd scorer Patrick Kane by 68 points.

In Jagr first 6 seasons in the league,(1990-1996) Jagr ranks 8th in points behind Gretzky, Oates, Sakic, Hull, Recchi, Yzerman, Turgeon.

He started peaking in his D+6 draft season, while playing with a healthy Lemieux for a full season.

McDavid is in his D+7. In his D+6, he was stopped by covid but had 105 in 56 games, fair to say he was peaking too.

McDavid has outclassed Jagr if you compare their first 6 seasons as far as dominance goes.

Well, you’re arguing Jagr had nobody of great talent playing alongside him. I am saying Kovalev is an exceptional talent
Kovalev never won a single major award or any NHL award in his career. He isn’t a point per game player over his career and his only seasons as a point per game or better player were playing on a line with Mario Lemieux.

Draisaitl has a Hart, Art Ross and Lindsay and the last four seasons have been over a point per game.

Malkin has a Calder, two Art Ross trophies, a conn smythe, an MVP and a Lindsay.

Jagr from 96 until 2001 was the most dominate offensive player in the NHL with almost zero help. Not comparable to the supporting cast Crosby and McDavid have.

In 2005-06 he won the Lindsay with the supporting cast of Michael Nylander, Martin Straka and Martin Ruchinsky. He beat his second closest teammate by 44 points.

Let’s see a full season where McDavid scores 100+ and wins an Art Ross without Draisaitl and we can start to talk about dominance.

McDavid had a 38 points gap with Draisatl before Draisatl was the player he is today in 2017-2018 and finished with 108 points and won an Art Ross.
Jagr biggest gap+Art Ross was 44 points with Straka in 1998-1999.

McDavid best art ross lead was a 21 points lead on Draisastl.
Jagr best Art Ross lead was a 20 points lead on Selanne.

Nope, still don't see that huge gap in dominance you are talking about.

Ah yes forwards have never given up the puck before in playoffs. If every giveaway truly ends up in the back of the net then your team is shit.
