Bedard is not really "small", for those that might throw that out as his one and only fault. I know what his hockey card says, but he's built. Strong kid, especially lower body, and he is only 17.

Super exciting times.

If he's really 5'10 and 185 lbs., he's basicallly a full grown man already. Being over 180 lbs. is huge. He won't be physically overmatched by many guys out there.

He's 5'10 like Kane was 5'10. The difference is Bedard is actually 180 and 5'9 and a half when Kane was 5'7 and barely 160.

Bedard is still only 17 too. He can still get bigger potentially. Even if he doesn't, guys his size are more than fine in this league, especially with his elite hockey sense.

Kane had the same concerns as Bedard. Only good skating but not amazing, on the smaller side.

What a turning point for Hawks.
I'm going to have to look up the UFA list and see who is available.
The team automatically comes attractive because of him.
As far as Kane, a few posters in past painted the scenario if Bedard were to become a Hawk, he might sign here and I would like that.
Combined with a couple of decent UFA's, could become a light weight contender but would lose Draft positioning over the next couple of years.

Another option is to offer our #19(if Leafs lose to Florida it goes from#20 to #19 + our 2024 first rounder unprotected) + one of our 2nd our 2nd rounders to ANH for tge #2 overall this draft...get Fantilli and if Brdard goes to RW then top line of Reichel Fantilli Bedard and you fill in rest of the team...or you puut Dach at LW with Fantilli and Bedard and construct a 2nd line with Reichel adding vets to help him.
Lots of options to try pursuing.
