If the Leafs win a round and the Oil miss the playoffs or lose in round one and Jack plays bad do Dubas and Shanny tell everyone to kiss theirs? Naz said what he said because multiple people within the game all said the same about winning with him on the team, and he proved everyone wrong.

I do not think Soup disrespected Dubas and Shanny. The kid outplayed his $1.6m for two years. Dubas and Shanny should be thankful. On the flip side, the Leafs pretty much did not make Soup an offer and pretty much made it known that they wanted no part of the term he was looking for.

Would be a real happy moment for you?

If we can't win it, do not mind seeing a character person like Jack Campbell win it. Doubt he would do a Kadri though.

Seems like a joke now but at the time, Soup was on fire, the Avs goaltending was a tire fire and Byram had concussion issues.
Well that was some interesting reading

Interesting campbell was vezina level january 17th when he was already slipping

No, he wouldn't do a Kadri for sure.

The completely ironic thing about people cheering on Kadri's comments, is they actually justify Dubas and Shanny trading him. He was traded for years of run in's with coaches, internal suspensions, being called immature by management, and not taking responsibility for his actions... then the discipline issues with suspensions.

He follows this up, after winning the cup, with an angry response, further proving he still hasn't matured, and accepted his responsibility in the actions.

Dubas and Shanny probably laughed, and thanked their stars for moving the problem when they did.

While Jack Campbell was not able to get the Leafs over the first round playoff win hurdle, regardless his personal stats rank among the best of Leafs goalies All-time.

Of the 107 goalies that wore the Leafs sweater his SV% as a Leaf @ .916 % average ranks him as 9th best ALL-TIme.

He would even rank higher as some of those above him played less than 10 games in a Leafs jersey. With only HHOF goalies Jacques Plante and Johnny Bower playing more games than him.

Main camp opens in 10 days. We'll know soon enough.

Sawchuk should have been protected in the '67 expansion draft over Bower. Everything is Imlach's fault.

Don’t think anyone in Leaf Land should be cheering on Campbell to give the slight to the Leafs if he has success in Edmonton… but I’m pretty sure we would all be okay with a fiery, immature Kadri who acts as immaturely as Marchand as long as he’s putting up seasons like the one he just had.

I suspect we’ll start getting more insight this week as everyone gets back into the groove.

We aren’t in charge of the organization.

This has been explained many times, and just before this too. Kadri had been an internal problem for years, to the point of having his parents in about ongoing issues and publicly being called immature. When you warn someone multiple times, and let it be known there are consequences, eventually there are consequences. Mgmt reached that point with him, after YEARS of working with him.

That accountability is lost on some people, particularly in sports is perplexing. He traded himself out of town.

This much was obvious the second of his last bad hit with us.

Loved Kadri the player, and we sure could use someone with his fire… just someone with maturity and accountability.

I keep tellin' ya. It's going to be Woll in the playoffs, and it's going to be good.:naughty: You are buying beers, if this off the wall prediction comes good.
I will buy for sure .. Woll is a great kid .. only 97 or 98 tender I can ever remember who could win a game virtually by himself against best TO 97s .. ask Mitch how many breakaways he was stoned by Woll in 1 game .. I don't think any other tender has done that to him EVER at any level .. but Woll's issue is not 1 on 1 play as his athleticism is off da chart good best Leafs had or have now .. his issue is he loses his position in net when puck gets thrown around as he is too aggressive in da 1 on 1 challenge .. i hope he can fix it .. but Leafs should throw him into every shoot out they ever get into

Personally, I would have brought Soup back on the deal he got with the Oilers, I think it's a fair deal. That said, the new guys deserve a chance to prove themselves and they have my support.

Has he been cleared to play?

Murray last game was March 5th and missed the last 28 games of the regular season and what would have been the entire NHL playoffs.. The last released news was that he was hoping to get back on the ice for the 1st time since being acquired by Leafs in July, near the end of that month.

Sens GM believed Murray would be good to go for next season. Murray (concussion) will be available for the start of training camp in the fall, general manager Pierre Dorion told reporters Wednesday may 15th, per Bruce Garrioch of the Ottawa Sun. Murray missed the final 28 games of the season while recovering from his concussion but is expected to be good to go for 2022-23.

Leafs Medical staff was able to review and examine Murray prior to the trade (as Ottawa allowed it) and they claimed they endorsed the trade after his team medical. Though he was cleared medically by the Maple Leafs prior to the trade becoming official, his recent string of injuries can't be ignored. He played in only 47 games over the two seasons with the Senators, limited by various ailments, including a concussion that ended his 2021-22 season.

However this latest concussion is Murray's 4th documented one now.

Multiple Concussions: Long-Term Effects and Treatment Options

If you’re like the majority of people who have had a concussion, then you likely recovered a few weeks afterward and have felt fine ever since then. Concussive symptoms typically resolve in 7 to 10 days (sports-related concussions) or within 3 months (non-athletes). But not everyone is that fortunate: up to 30% of post-concussion patients have lingering symptoms that don’t go away with time and rest.

And even if you do recover and walk away with no long-term symptoms, it isn’t without consequence: You will always be more susceptible to another concussion than someone who hasn’t had one, particularly during the first year after your concussion. It takes less force to sustain a repeat concussion within a year of the previous concussion and it’s likely to take more time to resolve. Repeated subconcussive jarring or shaking to the head can contribute to this situation as well.

Many people (especially athletes) who have had one concussion go on to have more. With every concussion, your chance of developing long-term symptoms (post-concussion syndrome) increases.

Murray is still IR?
That’s why I keep asking about him. I hope he’s ready to participate in training camp and exhibition games, but I haven’t seen any sign of him. You’d think someone would post a photo on social media of him practicing.

We gave Jack a change to hone his craft in the league. Why in the world he would hate us. I see why Kadri had chip on his shoulder, even though his antics were the reason why he was traded.

In the end that 5x5 contract Campbell got is based on the job he did here. Dubas and Keefe gave him a chance and he should respect that a bit.

It isn't like we didn't support him or didn't offer him a contract. It was money thing and nothing personal.

If his going to win a Stanley Cup he should be thankful he got the chance in the first place.

I would be.

edit. It seems like some think every former player we had, will go being all out Michael Jordan towards us, even if their personality won't support that.

I wouldn’t be too worried about how Jack chooses to celebrate a hypothetical Stanley Cup over the next 5 years but one of the consequences of a bet on yourself sales pitch to come to the Leafs is going to be a revolving door of good athletes who make good short term here and use it as a spring board elsewhere. If these guys choose to dunk on the Toronto organization after they win, you can’t control that. Only thing to do is win our own cup.

Could this be Murray showing up for Leaf camp physicals at Ford Centre?
