Neither Clark nor TheAthletic mentioned anything about replacing Clark when he left, and yet we still ended up with Baugh.

I don't think we really know what will happen... New York Times bought The Athletic out in 2022 and have been shifting away from having one beat write per team. Denver being isolated probably helps in getting a local writer... but maybe we get a crossover from a different sport or we end up with a regional person.

It makes him seem like he’s a try hard guy with minimal skill, which is absurd. He’s an elite skater and routinely skates circles around other players. He can skate circles around Bedard who was mentioned.

If you were to pick NFL players as comparable to these guys, Connor McDavid would be the Randy Moss. MacKinnon would be the Bo Jackson of the NHL.

His characterization is inaccurate and kind of insulting while masquerading as humor. Very weird and awkward.

They are all complaining there aren't enough people writing stuff that they can call stupid and idiotic. I don't get why there needs to be any serious journalism on sports. The "fans" have spoken, they want super hot takes after any bit of news comes along. Makar stumbles in a game? He's clearly in decline. and we are going to hate that contract. MacKinnon scores a goal that deflects in off a defender? He meant to do that because he's a superhuman scoring machine. Opposing team scores game winner on the fourth line in the first period? Bednar needs to be fired yesterday.

What's left for a journalist to say that this crowd doesn't know already? Ask better questions of the coach or players? Like they are really going to say anything of substance.

I have no issue with Pete Blackburn or what he has to say about MacKinnon. Frankly it's all pretty accurate.

MacKinnon is simply a unique personality in a league that has virtually none of them, nothing wrong with showcasing that or even poking fun at it. What's most interesting to me is that Nate's actually a really chill dude away from the rink. He was almost literally the only guy interviewed in the wake of Jalen Ramsey saying he could become a star in the NHL who didn't blow a gasket.

Georgiev’s save percentage and goals-against average maybe aren’t as impressive as others in consideration but he has more wins than any goalie this season. Say what you want about how wins are a team stat, but Georgiev did his part to get those wins. It would be noticeable, in some way, for him not to be included among this year’s All-Stars.​
