Obviously, MacDermid is not your ideal #6, though there is something to be said for the Belak model.
But I'm usually OK with Kurtis. For what he is he's passable on D. Prefer him as the 12th, but so it goes.
He had a great chance last night that was deflected at the last moment. Tampa were fantastic at that. Sticks on the ice. So many blocked shots. Made Toews missing the pass to Tarasenko (Kucherov... why'd I say.... nevermind) with both his stick and skate hurt all the more (not blaming him for bad luck, though I will second-guess his decision not to go down to the ice to take away that pass).
Anyway, I digress. MacDermid will frustrate, but I think he's better than we like to focus on.
He's not passable on D. If he's part of your organization, he should be 11th/12th on the defensive depth chart he is that bad.

Frankly there's way too many options and not enough money. It's gonna be a while before everyone figures all of this out. I figure at some point we will see collapse and consolidation of some streaming services as the line between cable/satellite and online continues to blur.

Yup and way too easy to pirate... Cable and satellite TV are a house of cards right now, but when you drill down to the deeper edges, the house looks shakier and shakier. Steaming for many years has had a massive influx of capital worried about revenues and market share more than anything else. When the excess cash dries up economically, suddenly free cash flow is king. The money burning environment of market share streaming services is over. Leaves us in a very weird middle period with a lot of pain ahead.

Thankfully for the NHL, they are probably better suited to get through this than others. They are primarily a gate league, so if they can keep attendance up they can survive the headwinds.

Trouble at Root Sports now too. They want out of the regional sports world and want teams to buy them out.

Gonna be an interesting shift in the TV model soon.

I hope the result of this is eliminating regional blackouts. I’m tired of that shit.
Being able to watch the Avs via Center Ice would eliminate all the problems for us local Comcast and Dish fans.

Updated depth chart from The Athletic. Their model still has the Avs with the best chance of winning the Cup of any team in their division and has them tied with Edmonton for the best chance in the conference.
And that's with us still missing Landy and Manson from the lineup. If when we get those two back, we'll be even stronger.

Damn, Rycroft had a strong game for pride night. That was a sharp look.

Did the Avs never upload CMac's presser? It's not on the Altitude YouTube either. They did the same thing with Nate's extension presser with Sakic.

Not sure why they do this. They have the footage. They have the rights to the footage. They know fans want to see these things. It brings traffic to their website where they can sell merch and buy tickets. Only takes a few minutes for an intern to upload. What's the deal?

Nice catch - didn’t even notice he was in the photo
Katie is always easy on the eyes and ears. It's amazing, once again, how much growth we've seen in a young female tv host on altitude. No matter what their future holds, I gotta give them credit for finding Laura, Laura, and Katie. Them bases are loaded.

What happened to Rachel btw ?

More importantly: What happened to Alexis?
Still also in the Denver area but she works for the Broncos now. I believe she filled in as host at Ball Arena not that long ago.

As for the new guy they announced (I think) around December, Donovan Webb, I've no idea. Not seen nor heard a thing about him since the announcement. Only people who have attended games likely would've seen or heard him.

This RSO mess could be a huge issue for the NHL. They seem pretty certain to lose out on a couple hundred million this year. Next year will be well over 300m with ease if Bally and and AT&T don't pay. We're talking a 5% minimum loss in HRR next year... could be up to 7%. We might see another 2 seasons of flat cap, maybe 3 if the replacements can't come online.

I love that the other RSN rights holder is just skipping out on the contract. Not declaring bankruptcy, just sayin', nope not paying you.
