Not sure why there's hate for Sandy. He may not be the most knowledgeable as it pertains to hockey, but he was consistently the only one at The Fan who gave a single shit about the Avs before they became legit contenders.

Well he was probably the most knowledgeable guy on local sport radio (faint praise) and I did appreciate he never threw out a hot take just to stir the pot and get a response.

He actually engaged me in email dialog several years ago, which I didn't expect. I also respected him a lot for it. I question how many other Denver personalities woukd have done this.

I really liked Sandy Clough, always very knowledgeable, always entertaining, I don't really care that he could at times be a jerk to callers. Lots of talk radio guys are, frankly Mike Haynes was WAY worse than Sandy on his worst day. He also despised Jeff Bzdelik for some reason. Hasbro also rightfully pointed out that he was never a hot take factory like so many in the industry are today.

I know it's a different world now, everything is on twitter but back when ESPN was actually covering the NHL and Bucci was on a roll with his blogs, he would engage via email with folks all the time. Clement did as well. Which is probably why I've been such a fan of them. Although, seriously, who wasn't a fan of Clement and Thorne calling a game with Bucci and Levy (when he was on top of his game) back in the studio.

Is there a media day video from yesterday anywhere?

I have read text transcripts of it, surely there must be a video?

I'm not sure why it isn't front and center on avalanche..com, but this feels typical for them.

I never realised that Rudo was a head taller than AJ. Anyone know their respective heights?

Also, the state of the black trim on the bottom row with all the little bumps betrays that the cup has took an absolute beating this summer.

Can I ask? Are you ok?
Yeah man. I've actually been switched to palliative care. They don't expect to cure me. But I still expect to kick the shit out of this thing for as long as possible.

I'm down in Seattle (third week) of radiation/chemo combined therapies. Get to fly back home Saturday and will restart IV chemo until we can think of something else to hit the thing with.

[edit...Hey, I didn't mean that to sound like a downer or pity-me type. The funny thing is, if it wasn't for the side effects of chemo, I would swear to you that I'm not sick and am in fact in the best shape I've been in for over two decades. I lost a lot of weight and that's made me feel incredible. I still work 40 hrs at the office (virtually for now) but things are good. The wife and I still making vacation plans for the Mexico beach this winter when the real cold stuff happens. :) ]
