Pretty sure that is the first time I've commented on the careers of either Baugh or Clark. When I have, it's usually to actually link an article that I feel is good or noteworthy for some reason.

I wasn't try to pick a nerve.
Right but you’re far from the first. Also, you didn’t really pick a nerve, I’m just openly questioning why it matters if the Avs beat is just a means to an end to some of these guys. If the content is at least adequate, that’s all that should matter.

The Avs don't leak anything simply because nobody is there insisting and digging enough. Put any competent journalist who cares about the team, give him/her a few months and we'll get scoops like most other markets.

It's not like the teams up here in Canada want to leak stuff, it happens because journalists are actively working for it.

I'm sure it's similar with the Broncos in Denver.
But those teams want coverage and attention. The Avs don’t want any coverage at all. They want to exist in the minds of people for 3 hours every game day and outside of that to go about their business as quietly as possible. They don’t want coverage of positive things or to give out basic news when they don’t have to. Every other GM gives a presser for simple reasons and just based on what time of the year it is to give an update.

Perhaps if there was enough journalist pressure and interest the Avs would do it too. That's a chicken and egg situation.

It's not like there's a lot of tough questions that need to be asked of the Avs either. Other than running in complete radio silence, they are a classy organization that truly values character (so much so they drafted Bleakly in the first round).

It's about getting CMac to commit to more than one press conference a year and maybe an actual interview or two and then getting access to players occasionally so they can do long form interviews. Then it's up to the reporter to make use of it. Look at what Portzline did with his story on Bread. That thing was a masterpiece. Not every story has to be epic. But every player has a story and if nothing else, I'd like to see our journalists tell those stories. Get and gain access to actually be able to tell the players stories. Those are things we don't know that would be actually really cool to read, if they players are okay in sharing their stories. I can imagine some of the ones Bo has to tell about this summer would be absolutely hilarious.

Agreed, hockey lacks polished and highly produced podcasts that you can get on most other sports. Then again no one is getting crazy money like Pat McAfee or Bill Simmons to do these for hockey. And really who wants to watch a hockey game with one of the more known hockey podcasters?

Good interview, but them poo-pooing the whole Naz thing in Stl., before the interview, was awful. Blowing it off as not that big of a deal and it was just some dorks in their basement not being serious. Even said that Naz didn't think it was that big of a deal and neither did Bednar. Was all overblown by the media. Eff that.
Also, bad news for those of us that want Bennett replaced. Bedsy spent the last 2+ minutes of his interview praising Ray, his knowledge of the game, and how well he does with the stars of the team on the PP.

Yeah, I didn't listen to this, but it sounds like an extension of how Bednar defended Berube afterwards. And just his tendency to downplay all bad things done to his players. Maybe the only thing I don't like about him.

There are certain things, whether they're racial death threats, or even dirty hits, that need to be called out for what they are. Downplaying them does nothing but benefit those making the racial death threats and bad hits.

The only thing I can think of is that he's just way too concerned with his team losing focus. Just making an honest assessment of a situation, and then not commenting further won't make them lose focus though, so I'm really at a loss for what he's thinking when he does this.

Wasn't Bednar downplaying it, it was Cam and Strick.

Oh I thought you meant Bednar said it wasn't a big deal in the interview. Guess you meant the hosts were relaying what Bednar said during the playoffs.

Good to hear at least he didn't take part in that discussion. That was kinda bothering me for a minute there that he was still downplaying it.

Have their been any plans/announcements/news about a 2022 Stanley Cup Championship video to be released on blu-ray/dvd? Not sure if they still regularly make these for every Stanley Cup Champion since I haven't been interested in one for 20 years (I actually think we may have still been talking VHS at that time). But they did release one last year for the Tampa Bay Lightning:
