Or maybe look what they did to win a 2nd cup. They didn't sit on their hands with tons of picks while having one of the worst bottom six's in the league
Would I be mad if they would have went out and spent their 2023 and 2024 1st's? No.

But do I understand that the market/players were not a good fit. I trust Sakic and MacFarland made the best decision for the team long term. Even with sitting on their hands the Avs still have a good shot at making it out of the West.

You do realize the bottom 6 of the Avs this year is very nearly identical to last year in the playoffs when Kadri was injured right? I guess they don't have Nico Sturm, must be what is making them so bad now. Bottom 6 circled for reference from a SCF game prior to Kadri returning. (Bura got hurt in this one as well, in typical Avs fashion)

The Avs simply need Makar & Manson to be ready to go on the backend and Seattle is in trouble.

NAK, Sturm are gone, Cogliano is out (last info i heard there is no timeline on his return). Don´t know about Helm, but he played 11 games this season. So i doubt his body will hold up to playoff hockey.

I would say this years bottom 6 are weaker than last year.

What really could (or will) sink us is the absent of Landeskog. There's no substitute.

We should be fine beating the Kraken (and no disrespect to them because it will be a lot harder than Nashville last year), but the problems will start by Round 2. Especially when facing Dallas. But until then i fear half of our team will allready be injured (i don´t expect this nightmare, that hounts us all season, to stop in the playoffs).

It might feel weaker but only due to random injuries throughout the year. It sounds like Cogliano will be good to go. Malgin and Ellers can be added into the bottom 6 assuming Rants, JT, MacKinnon, Lehky, Val, ERod are all suiting up. Malgin and ERod can swap if needed but the point stands. I don't think a near healthy bottom 6 is worse than last year. Landy will be missed but they have the roster to make a run again without needing to have thrown 1st round picks at guys they maybe didn't think were worth it.

I also fully expect to see JoJo in net by game 4 due to injuries with how this season has gone.

I think people are sleeping on kraken. seattle is a pretty good team they are not going to be an easy out
The problem is people aren't choosing against the Kraks because they think they're a bad team or because Avs won the Cup last year. The Avs problems are quite well documented, the problem is that Seattle's goalers can't stop an asteroid the size of Rhode Islande.

Pressure is off Seattle in my opinion and they are playing with house money, especially given preseason expectations. Burakovsky is still a massive loss and they've struggled the last couple of months against other play off teams. Will be happy if the series is competitive/don't get swept but I can see those players having a chip on their shoulder.

Can't wait to see the play off atmosphere in Seattle, even if the team are better on the road this year.

What was so bad about Stan ? ......Seems like there's quite a bit of hate online when it comes to him....

In addition to the TV thing here in Denver, he owns the Los Angeles Rams, which should disqualify him from any "best of" lists.

That would be Stan... I think. I'm pretty sure Stan still owns Altitude.

I can see the Ball Arena penthouse from where I'm currently sitting. I may walk over there.

I think Josh lives out off of Colorado, east of Cherry Creek? Or does he live there?

Picked the AVS in five. Hope the Kraken make it interesting. One thing for sure they will not mail it in. They are tough to play against but defensive lapses and very poor goaltending will make this a short series imo.

Hopefully a entertaining injury free series for both teams without sny officiating controversy!
