Next or other favorite team: i would say the Flyers for their history. They are in the legend of the NHL, so many values that i like there.

How and when did you become an Av fan? like many other french, with the EA Games, NHL, i guess it was the 94 i saw the first time. 8 years old, my dream was to do hockey, but too expansive :/. After that, my oncle gave me a whole bunch of games on CD, here was NHL97. I played that for hours. At this time, quick game meant Avalanche against Red Wings. First i was mor fund of Detroit. After that, well, Roy arrive in the team. That is how i became AVs fan.

I'm register here since March 07, but never really post here, i guess times are changing

How and when did you become an Av fan?:NHL coverage became available on cable in Sweden in the late 80's or early 90's.It probably took me about a year to form a favourite and it was the Quebec Nordiques.Many of the best players back then were in the same generation as me which is why probably at least one of the reasons why it happened.And i've been cheering for this club ever since.

How else is hockey in your life?: I play the odd time these days. Before that i used to play minor hockey as i grew up in SK, where every boy plays hockey. I also follow almost every level of hockey and have started getting into the broadcasting aspect which i love. At some point i would also like to become a scout, as i have tons of contacts in my hands these days.
Favorite Av moment: The rats coming down on Roy in 1996. Cup run in '01 is legendary.
Lowest Av moment: Roy's final game after losing to Minnesota. I am proud to say i cried myself to sleep that night as a 16 year old....haha. Thats how much i love Roy.
How and when did you become an Av fan?: I liked hockey since i can remember, and grew up as first a Pens fan as a 5 year old, then a Hawks fan in like 94, then a Sharks fan in 95...then when Colorado got a franchise in 96 i watched them all year until they won the cup and i new i had a team. I've been a fan since i was 8...so thats almost 2/3 of my entire life.

Interests: Bit of a geek, and I remain addicted to sports blogs that follow my favorite (hometown) teams, and more specifically there prospects and developing players (thanks Jori!). Love science, especially biology and ecology. Hiking, backpacking, camping, skiing, biking, climbing, so on, love spending my time outdoors (and yes, hockey counts). Though I haven't played competitively since high school, hockey is still my main interest and passion. I've been an Avs fan since the start, and I still remember when we first hoisted the Cup in '96. I cried like a baby when Sakic passed the Holy Grail off to Ray in '01. Still gives me chills. I have an enormous hockey card collection (my best piece being a Bobby Orr game worn jersey card), and a good stockpile of Avalanche memorabilia and autographs.

Favorite Ex-Avs: Honestly, Mike Keane would probably top my list. Always liked Rhino, along Keith Ballard (does he count?!). Peter the Great is a legend, and I am thrilled to see Deader back with the Avs. Gusarov was an unsung hero that deserves credit. And believe it or not, I was a big Craig Billington fan - and I think he does his current job damn well. Aaron Messier and Greg de Vries were other guys that I still appreciate what they did for this organization.
Favorite Non-Avs: Lidstrom (sorry!), Toews, Ovie, Max Talbot!, Cam Ward.
Other Teams: I'm a homer for all Denver/Colorado teams, including the DU Pioneers in the WCHA and the CU Buffs in the Big 12. In the NHL, I also pull for... meh, good hockey.

Least Favorite: Steve Moore/Todd Bertuzzi incident.
When/How Did I Become an Avs fan?: 1995, I thought it was funny that the announcers couldn't pronounce 'Roy' correctly near as I could tell. Whoa is this 'Wah' fellow? Granted, I was only 7, but I've been a diehard fan (an Avaholic, if you will) ever since. This franchise means so much to this city, even if it's not so obvious right now.

Favorite Av moment: All my road trips to see them. Game 6 in 99 at Joe Louis Arena (clinched the series) and game 6 in the '01 finals @ New Jersey are my top two though. Watching the first Cup win was enormous too.
LEAST favorite Av moment: The Drury trade. I almost fainted when I heard about it. Is it a coincidence that the team hasn't gotten past round 2 since then?

How else is hockey in your life?: I play on a recreational floor hockey team with some friends of mine; I split time between playing goaltender and...well...anything else. I follow the sport as much as I can, but I just can't seem to get into more of the other areas like the World Junior Championships, college scene, other minor hockey leagues, or the draft pool.
Favorite Avalanche moment: There have been so many good ones that it's hard to really pick a top moment. I guess it would have to be the one time I crossed paths with Ray Bourque when he was playing here. The fact that I was just passing by and the man just said hi as we crossed paths was very nice. Didn't know anything about me, but still thought enough of me to at least say hi.
LEAST favorite Avalanche moment: Paul Kariya. Enough said.
How and when did you become an Av fan?: The team got me during the 1996 playoff series against Chicago en route to the first Stanley Cup. I hadn't followed the game at all up to that point, and the next thing I know, I'm up to all hours of the night on the edge of my seat during the game. I was hooked from that point on and I haven't looked back since!

How else is hockey in your life?: Played it for 11 years competitively, now play whenever I can at the ODR, college no hit league or beer league......ball hockey league, road hockey. Watch as much hockey as I can.
Favorite Av moment: Watching the '01 cup final as a 10 year old with my friends and family and crying when they won. I think that's when everyone knew I was a true fan.
How and when did you become an Av fan?: When I was too young to remember thanks to Forsberg and Sakic, but then I got attached and stuck around for the next generation. Almost everyone in Alberta is obviously a Flames or Oilers fan and I do get beaked a lot for it since I live directly an hour away from both cities. But I proudly wear my Avs jersey any excuse I get and let everyone know who my team is.
