Wonder if that Florida rumor is a Dale Tallon joke. But if they put in a claim, I believe we won't find out until Monday since there is a 48 hour cycle for teams to put in claims on players who are placed on waivers during a weekend.

That rule ended in the new CBA. All waivers are now 24 hours.

This. He hasn't had a good year this season, but he played absolutely solid throughout our Cup run despite being hated from the start here.

Hated from the start? By who?

The Kings could have acquired Raitis Ivanans in that trade and it would have been a slam dunk win. Anyone with anything between their ears knew that they couldn't win with that albatross contract, I think most people welcomed Fraser.

Fraser gave the Kings one quality playoff run, but his salary is to high for a 13th or 14th forward. It's unfortunate how bad his play fell off this year, but I still am happy we had him here.

So we tell fla that after the freeze our trade for flash goes thru but in the meantime we have to save money so when we waive fraser u go ahead and claim him as part of the deal...maybe?

I won't name names.

I didn't realize this would be such a cause for celebration. I mean I won't be heartbroken if he's gone but I'm not excited simply by to have him off the roster. He's still a decent extra forward if needed.

They may be trying to sneak him thru waivers because if you claim him today you have to keep him on the roster with pay for two weeks min, two weeks of Olympics and no return period....May be way to get him to Manchester

Well, in fairness, we do have some posters with the "kick the man while he's down syndrome" going on. So, yeah, there is THAT. :sarcasm:

I'm just glad we have some posters who saw the good in Fraser. He's a good guy and he played his ass off while he was here, he doesn't deserve all the disrespect he got on this board.

No ****. Always liked Fraser.

And yes, this is a way to get his salary off the books for two weeks in Manchester. All of those celebrating his "release" may soon be eating their words when he shows up at Staples to play Carolina on March 1.

I liked Fraser more than most, he's just too pricey for this roster right now. This is a cap move more than anything, I'm sure. But I agree with others that his sandpaper has fallen off considerably since 2012. Dunno if it was the injury or what. He's not fast, and when he's not being gritty or otherwise he's just sort of there. However, he was responsible, nice to have a vet 4C, but if he's gone, I'll wish him the best and success wherever he ends up. Seems to be a superb teammate and I hope he gets to stay in the NHL.

Not that I expected much offensively, but your fourth line shouldn't be a liability and I felt that it was starting to become one when Fraser's line was on the ice. He was a plus player in only one game this entire season. He also struggled quite a bit last season and I won't forget that horrendous game he had against Anaheim where he was a -3.

I think the Kings are looking at a fourth line center who can do a bit more on the ice than just hustle.
