One of the things I found interesting in Chevy's post TD presser is he mentioned they needed some cap space to pay one of Perfetti's performance bonuses. Any thoughts on what it was? He hit the 50 game mark and the 30 point mark, not sure what else it could be?

All I know is his kids pretty soft I don’t think he’s big enough to put NHL or his bone structure is it going to make it she can’t come back in the playoffs and expect to be getting hit this hard every time he gets it he gets injured

Not asking for a trade request? :sarcasm:

We'll have to wait for some rando who covers another market to clue us in on that.

Don't recall if we've seen the bonus schedule but I think the sums mentioned were in the hundreds of 000s.

Performance bonus conditions in ELCs are not usually made public. Cole has up to $850,000 in potential bonuses, very unlikely he achieved all of them. He likely had a major trophy or major trophy finalist bonus (Calder), but the easier to hit bonuses are things like games played or points thresholds.

OK I have to ask

What's wrong with his bone structure?

Baby face?

Chipmunk cheeks?

I mean, the kid barely fills out the hat...

Haha I don’t know ! He just keeps getting injured from hits. Seems like coming back at playoff time will just be a waste of a roster spot . Someone that is playing well and doesn’t need to shake the rust off should stay

It is his rookie season, to say he is this or he can't do that is crazy. He was in the NHL at 19 with being smaller and less physically developed he was getting nailed at times but it was his D-2. This year he could be an OA in the OHL except for his exceptional talent probably doesn't play against the best players in the world at such a young age for a smaller built guy. He is smart so learning to avoid a hit will get easier. Can't kick him while he is down He is more pissed than anyone.

I agree with this . I’m just saying is it worth bringing a rusty small perfetti back for intense playoff games ?

That’s all my point was

He leads the team in plus minus. Rookie forwards have a standard one for being top 3 amongst team forwards in plus minus. This is definitely one bonus he will/should achieve.

Over someone out of AJF, Kuhlmann or Stenlund? Yes? Please?
Agreed obviously

He had a great season, one of the very best rookies in the entire league. He is very smart, so the learning curve will be much shorter for him as already demonstrated many times.

Yup, the frequency that he has taken big hits has decreased substantially as the year has progressed. I am quite frankly not sure when he got injured his last game as I didn't see him take any hits let alone big ones. I stand by the notion that this is a lingering shoulder issue from his rookie year that hasn't healed properly.

I'm not that concerned, he's going to get stronger and quicker and will continue to adapt. All of Scheifele, JoMo and Ehelers suffered some big injuries at the same age and they have all turned out fine.

I agree he's a smart player but to be honest I am getting worried about his injuries. If he doesn't beef up he'll have to rely on his smarts to avoid getting pasted. Then again look at KFC...slight player that doesn't get hurt often (but he certainly doesn't go to the dirty areas either so there's that)

ok. there is legitimacy in how much potential muscle/mass a put on given their bone structure, limb lengths, insertions etc. but these guy are not in the business of being mass-monsters at all, so i don't think it applies. to say something like that w/o any basis just seemed very odd.

I’m just spitballing on why both injuries he has had are from contact . And long term at that . It might not be a coincidence

You could be right. I just have no idea or wouldn't make that claim lol. But the fact they couldn't pinpoint when his last injury happened, and apparently not related to anything from last year is a bit concerning.

Did the Jets announce they couldn't pinpoint when his last injury happened? Or is it we as fans couldn't pinpoint when the last injury happened?
