And they keep a retention spot by not needing to use one on Hall.Well, think about it from their perspective. They got paid a 3rd to get rid of their Hall contract and save about $1.4 mil cap space.
Yeah, Hall is just another guy at this point, but he's still a skilled player who can be a needle-mover on the 2nd unit PP and bottom 6. Given how a skill guy like Jarvis thrives with JStaal, perhaps Hall can also get some of that JStaal magic. Or maybe Hall plays on the 4th line and tries to exploit mismatches. The key for him is motivation. If he follows the school of Rod we have a good fit on our hands, and getting him early in the season gives the two time to figure each other out.Obviously we haven’t talked about him much, but I think Hall could be a really clever bit of business for us. It can’t be over stated how bad Chicago is, and I think we’ll see a production increase from a guy who has suddenly found a spare pocket of motivation to dip into. Also helps that he’s very much going to be a top 6 supporting role guy instead of being asked to do it all.
Hall has been a healthy scratch this season, and only averaging 15min/gm.Obviously we haven’t talked about him much, but I think Hall could be a really clever bit of business for us. Big Beta energy on display. Explain’s why he no longer plays with Aho, and has never put one in on Koochie.Jack is a p***y, should have just switched his numbers around, tut tut.
Same, although I'm mad at myself not getting a second.Who can name all (4). This one challenged me, I only got 1/4 on who wore #71.
i got curious about other teams that haven't had a 1st overall play for them...Yes. I was hoping to be the first to post that today. However, in franchise history, we've had one other #1 overall play for the Whalers. The incredible, indelible, somewhat edible, Brian Lawton.
I wonder if it has anything to do with it being specifically their 3rd. It might have more value to them than any other similar asset as it allows some offer sheets to be considered by them that they otherwise would have no ability to partake in.I just want to know how Chicago was talked into being involved in this for just a 3rd rounder. But wow this is great.
They now can offersheet 4m-10m range with their 3rd pick backI wonder if it has anything to do with it being specifically their 3rd. With the scoring touch of.... Uhhhh... Well I guess he is the comparable to himself thereaho: "i miss teuvo"
tulsky: "what if we get you a teuvo built like jordan staal?"
i wonder when/how he found out he was traded? (well, his rights)Hope they announce the Nils Juntorp signing
Honestly, if there is one franchise I trust more than anyone to find a grinding defensive minded 4th line center who can win faceoffs but doesn't score much, it's the Carolina Hurricanes. Seems like every time we sneeze in the summer we fart out a couple more of them.Extreme happiness aside from this deal I see some downside impacts:
- Lose a superb face-off guy in Drury....important end-game and playoffs
- Need to replace Drury's 2nd PP & PK minutes
- Lose team speed as Necas was 99 percentile....OT & zone entry's impacted
Heard Jack ask if he got his watch lol
