definitely sad about Necas and even KK as frustrating as he was at times is a very likeable player and a guy I would've liked to have on the team as a long term 3C for a low cap hit, but no brainer to ship both out for a player of Rants' caliber. Legit top 10-15 player in the league. f***ing incredible and it finally happened. Eichel and Tkachuk both resulted in cups for the teams who traded for them, think we're next?

Defending Avs a bit, this is what you do with players that won't resign. IE Hamilton, Trochek, Pesce, Skjei etc

Not sure about the whole Rants as a rental for Necas part….
Rants will be more consistent than Necas and presumably have much better chemistry with everyone.
Drury is our 2C….feels like something might still need to happen if we’re making this run with Rants. I can’t see Drury being the game plan after an “all in” move like this.

OP's got merged but can someone explain the Hall deal to me. Isn't he washed up and very costly (albeit this is his last year of contract)?

$12m long term for Rantanen and the whole thing gets simpler.
We didn’t give up much in the grand scheme of things for Guentzel. Feels like we can’t have this be a rental, truly can’t.

well it sounds like we will actually come out of this deal with more cap space than we had before it so there could certainly be another move on the horizon. what rental 2Cs are there? or is Rants gonna play C for us and just pair with Aho on the PP?
