Not liking that Boston is able to stick around on this. They clearly have assets BA covets if they were able to stick around on the Garland/OEL discussions. What's interesting is that we may have scared off the two teams with heaps of assets (LAK and NYR) and the three that are a little more light are able to stay in the game. If anything it should have been the opposite. At this point I'm rooting for Columbus to come out with a ton of futures and to just take that, even if it's not my top choice.

Swayman is interesting, don't get me wrong. He showed more than Knight, but what do either of those goaltenders look like in front of this team? Also what about that Veggie extension? Of Swayman was upset about being sent down on the Bruins, what will he think if it happens in AZ? Provostov would most likely be going the other way too, and he could easily end up being the best of the bunch.

The problem with the Bruins is there isn't a package that they could put together that would actually hurt them. They have no prized assets. Losing Chychrun will hurt the coyotes so the return must at least be good enough to offset that pain. If BA deals with the bruins and tries to pass off like "Hey I know we just traded our franchise defenseman but look we got a potential bottom pairing D (Vaakanainen) a potential decent number 1 goalie (Swayman) and a declining but "young" winger (Debrusk)!" I think I'll throw up.

BA wouldn't do that...Would he?

I think this return is going to suck. I also don't see why we're trading him unless he requested it or it's a huge overpay.
I don't think it's going to happen and I'll bet anyone a hamburger that he's a Coyote next season. Armstrong is a tough negotiator and he's not going to back away from his massive price tag and I don't think teams are going to pay it. I would love to know his actual price and second, I'd like to know who met it and with what.

I hate goalie prospects. But if I could choose just one goalie prospect in all the world, it would be Swayman. JFJR loves Frederic, right? I guess BA would, too, as he’s a St Louis kid. I don’t personally love the upside on Frederic. Seems like a 3rd or 4th liner to me. Vaakanainen strikes me a Plandowski type, even though I don’t think much of him. Jake DeBrusk is rumored to actually have trade value (which surprises me).

Is DeBrusk, Vaakanainen, Frederic, Swayman and a 1st for Chychrun and depth forward or two a deal that both sides would do?

I would probably vomit.
Send the team to Alaska if that's the return. I like Frederic, not as anything beyond a sweetener for Chychrun. Swayman is in the same boat except I can't say I like him because I've never watched him, knowingly.

Swayman is gonna hurt for bruins fans. Lysell and or Vaak are decent prospects. Add a first and a cap dump and I can see it happening.
I think Lysell is underestimated.

Either way let's get this over with:)

Reliable source is telling me the Kings and Rangers are out on the Chychrun frenzy. Panthers, Bruins, Canes are neck and neck. (Well, neck and neck and neck, I guess.)
Cant see what Boston could offer that is attractive enough

Panthers has been muchly discussed. Not happy if Knight is the main piece.

Carolina has Jarvis and not a lot else.

It must mean they want a goalie. It doesn’t make sense otherwise. We’re gonna lose
Chychrun and they two best pieces we get back are gonna be a goalie prospect and a late 1st rounder. This is brutal.
Ive been saying Swayman for awhile.

That being said Carolina’s pick is 2023. I like that.

i still believe in Columbus

I wouldn’t trade either of our later firsts for Lysell.

EDIT: My opinion here is ignorant. I haven’t seen him play much. I know he’s tiny and his character concerns that caused him to fall in the draft. If our scouts love him and don’t buy the character stuff, than so be it. I’ll trust them. I’ve only seen him play a handful of times and I have no idea what the character concerns even are.

I think Knight is our top target from FLA because I don’t believe Lundell is at all attainable. I like Samoskevich better than any Panthers prospect. That includes Knight. Even still, if we got Knight, Samoskevich and their 1st for Chychrun, I would hate that trade.

Furthermore, if I was forced to choose between just Jarvis, all on his own, or Knight, Samoskevich, and the Florida 1st, I would choose Jarvis. I’d rather have just him.

I would also take Jarvis alone over Swayman, Boston’s 1st and out choice of one of Vaakanainen, Lohrei, or Lysell.

Bruins fans seem to really like Lysell, but he's an undersized pure winger still in the WHL. We already have Guenther, we have Maccelli. The prime return for Chychrun has to be a D or C, and if its wing it's gotta be a Jarvis-level wing.

They like Lysell because he had tons of offensive upside but was a “faller” in the draft due to character red flags. It’s easy for fans of good teams to fall in love with players that have more skill than their typical selections later on in the 1st. Many of the big internet scouts like Scouch and Ferrari and the Robinson and those types has Lysell ranked very early on their lists due to pure skill. But NHL teams worry about more than skill.

I agree...BA has his "accepts" position and it hasn't been met. Best negotiators know that you never move off your accepts position...have to have the balls to walk away.

Stay Strong BA. I don't want Swayman & Boston's 1st as the best pieces.

I hope you're right but that's what I thought about the Dvorak trade rumors.

To BOS
Jakob Chychrun
Phil Kessel (50%)
Josef Korenar

To ARI
Jake DeBrusk
John Moore
Jeremy Swayman
Fabian Lysell
2022 BOS 1st

And Kessel @50%? Hard pass.

BA's fine guys. This is the guy who got a first++ for Kuemper, Dylan Guenther as part of the OEL cap dump (when OEL had a full NMC), and also a first for Dvorak. He's at least come out even on every major trade so far, and there have been a few in a very short time. No way he doesn't get a good deal for Chych (e.g., Swayman + mediocre prospects won't be enough).

Worst case we keep Chychrun for now, CAR or FLA flames out of the playoffs (they both can't win the cup), followed by something in the offseason. Or maybe we keep Chychrun, that would be ok too. Once we're out of the rebuild we'd need a player like him anyway
