I wouldn't want to be led by Brady and StutzleDeBrincat now this. Wonder what’s going on.

Most GMs and fans would have made and supported the Debrincat and Chychrun trades at the time they happened. Most observers saw those guys added to Chabot, Tkachuk, Stutzle, etc and Ottawa seemed set to soar in most minds. But they didn’t. Most are surprised where they are now.Pierre Dorion will go down as one of the worst GMs in history
He didn't appreciate the vision and what was/is happening. Patience would've led to him being a big part of a team on the rise. Instead, he became a Senator.I don't think the Coyotes actually gambled. I believe they did Chychrun a big favor by trading him to the destiny that he wanted and got back what they could. They did luck out.
I sense part of the reason that Chychrun is dissatisfied is that the Coyotes are competing for a playoff spot and the Sens are the team looking like a dysfunctionable team while the Coyotes were very accommodating. JC didn't realize how good he had it in AZ.
Which tells you a lot when the Coyotes got no immediate help for Chychrun.I don't think the Coyotes actually gambled. I believe they did Chychrun a big favor by trading him to the destiny that he wanted and got back what they could. They did luck out.

This one could be the subject of a good discussion. For the last few years the Coyotes were trading for futures including several instances of trading for bad contracts + futures. It wasn't hard to predict that things would be less bad as those bad contracts expired no matter how badly the franchise continued to be run, so there is no easy way to discern whether Chychrun leaving was addition by subtraction or would have happened anyway.Weird how the Coyotes almost immediately got better when Chychrun left and then the Sens got even worse.
Makes u think.
Who are most the shit tier GMs of all time?I know recency bias and all, but ain't no way Dorion, Benning or Chiarelli top Milbury in the worst GM race.
The Coyotes are having some element of success because they are scoring at a 3+ gf for the first time in decades and they are getting good goaltending. The forward group and goalie position has improved. Defense outside of Durzi and Moser is patchwork and if we still had Chychrun, I am confident our point % would be higher. This one could be the subject of a good discussion. You can pretty much Erase "Ottawa" and put in "Every NHL team", certainly for the needs, and to a large extent the does not needs.Ottawa needs:
Good RD
Legit 3rd line type guys who pot 15+, play hard AF and smart
High draft pick
Ottawa does not need:
Any type of LD
Centres
Everyone who thought Ottawa would be a playoff team did. And then later those who couldn’t discern the vast difference in trade value between pick 12 and pick 27, maintained that opinion. Ottawa actually improved their position by one slot. Moving from 13th to 12th between the time of the trade and failing to make the playoffs. Arizona ended up getting very good value. They gambled and won.
If you called it "played". They certainly have put him there rather than give him 15 minutes third pairing duty, but he has not looked that comfortable. I suspect thats a big reason why he wants out. Inability to showcase himself coming into what should be his big contract. That is also a reason why Debrincat wanted out.Has he played RD at all for Ottawa?
Brady Tkachuk is the least of their issues. I'm sure he's counting down the days but he's signed until 2028, Ottawa should probably trade him and kick off the rebuild of the rebuild before his NMC kicks in.Bit off topic but I always thought building around Brady Tkachuk was dumb. He also comes off as too immature to be a Captain as well.
If I had to peg Ottawas issues on one thing it would be leadership. Both on the ice and off with the Coach.
You guys aren’t fight fans, are you?Thought the same thing...funny.
Chiarelli, while he didn't build the guts of the Bruins that won the cup in 2011 (Jeff Gorton largely gets credit for that) did make a couple pretty savvy moves thar definitely helped them get there. Namely the trades for Siedenberg and getting Nathan Horton/Greg Campbell for a pylon and a bag of pucks, and Daniel Paille for a third.I know recency bias and all, but ain't no way Dorion, Benning or Chiarelli top Milbury in the worst GM race.
Yeah it’s a shame he doesn’t enjoy losing in a dysfunctional organization.Addition by subtraction. Sounds like a real team guy.
To be fair, that grass has been Arizona and Ottawa... Literally 2 of the worst run franchises in the past decadeThis dude is going to spend his whole career thinking the grass is greener somewhere else and by the time he's smart enough to realize it's not it'll be too late. Sad.
