How is Broberg being there, but not Holloway beat this Habs offer? Considering that Harris and Norlinder are better prospects than probably any other Oilers prospect?
Harris isn't even signed and is approaching college UFA status. When Fox wasn't going to sign in Calgary he was a throw in in the Hamilton/Lindholm deal. Harris has very little value in a trade at this point. I don't care that he could sign - as of now he is an unsigned college senior, that makes his value pretty low.

Caufield is a nice prospect and I expect him to have a good career. How good? I don’t know. With that said, there’s a reason he’s suddenly showing up in MTL trade proposals. To me, he’s a notch or two below the top guys.
No he's not...

Habs fans aren't trying to trade him at all. And the ones who are trying to are delusionnal. The only way Caufield gets traded is if, for whatever reason, Habs are putting their hand on a top 2 D who's under 23, or a Bigger version of Caufield. That's it.

Every Habs' prospect is a notch below the top guys. Just wait until the Habs got Wright. Instantly he is a notch below other prospect in the same draft.

I agree Montreal should not try to make this type of trade now.

montreal doesn’t have much to trade. Teams aren’t going to give up 1st for nothing super special players like Toffoli or Hoffman. Chiarot isn’t getting a 1st other than a final 4 pick that a 2nd coukd turn into.
In all fairness man, have you not followed the trade deadline for the past years? Those types of players get firsts as RENTALS. now let’s add that they are proven scorers with multiple years term. Contenders would give a first EASILY for that type of reinforcement. Their firsts will be bottom third.

Didn't say he's worth that. But the OP's proposal is worse than the one containing "habs entire futre"

The OP is definitely a bad trade for the Coyotes, but the other trade completely empties a rebuilding teams cupboard (top forward prospect, top defense prospect, what's looking like a top 5 pick). If the Habs were a contender it would be a different story, but given their position it's a truly horrendous trade.

Haha, great comment. Also love how it's being ignored by habs fans, as perhaps truth sears.

Or - and this is a different option - maybe it’s just being ignored for the caustic BS remark it was intended to be, and nobody needs to engage in something that’s just going to go around in circles before dying a slow death?

As far as Chycrun goes, terrific young defenseman and one I wanted in that deep 2016 draft, although was happy to get Sergachev. His value should be extremely high, and Arizona fans rightly want a kings ransom for a young top defenseman on a really good deal. And while I’d love him in Montreal, the cost it would take to acquire him wouldn’t make sense if Gorton was trying to rebuild. I don’t think there’s a deal to be made here.

So I see Caufield and nothing else for Chychrun, not really enticing IMO, make it HURT if you want Chychrun

If he was on my team it would hurt watching him play this year . Fans see his cap hit and lose their mind wanting him . He had a few real good years now the question is can he repeat that . There is some risk trading for him . Maybe he quit on the team and that is why Arizona is considering trading him .

Their both bad on opposite ends. But you do you and think all Habs fans think the same way. That's the ridiculous part. In case you didn't notice, several Habs fans in this 4 pages don't want to trade for Chychrun.

Go somewhere else with your fan base belittle narrative

I agree for the most part. He's got solid trade value for you young D but it's not as high as some think it is. If the Habs were trying to trade him after he had a drop off like that, we would be accused of trying to sell higher than what he is really worth. Reality

Hard to nail down his trade value IMO.

Agreed

I would not even trade Ghule straigh up for Chychrun
That’s an interesting call. If Guhle works out he could be as good as chych versus chych. I mean it does have to do with window and Mtl not being ready to compete but if u are offered the better player 1 for 1 IMO you gotta take it.
