That dude has like 1600 followers. I doubt he has anything inside knowledge.
Not disagreeing but Rangers were rumored to be in prior to trade deadline and were the team that apparently met our price in theory.

Also keep in mind Rangers are rumoured to be up for sale and Drury has reportedly (cold stone podcast) a short window (3 years) before he’s likely gone when a new ownership beings in their own people.

Just an absolutely huge goalie, about 6-foot-7 I believe. Obviously covers a lot of the net, but he's more so an athletic goalie so he's fun to watch.
Similar size to Swayman who we wanted as well.

I think this speculation has some potential to turn out to be true. Ideally we get the 2x1st, a G prospect, and a D prospect but that may be a tad greedy.

Sogaard and Swayman are not close in size.

He has quick feet and uses his pads very well from what I’ve seen. Fun to watch indeed. One of my favorites in the goaltending prospect world.

I kind of view and goalie above 6’3” in a category of “big” which i agree is way too much of a generalization

I’ve seen Swayman listed as 6’2” in some places as well. I’m actually surprised he’s listed as 6’3”. He appears similar in size to Quick in net which for some reason is considered small for goaltenders now days. I like Swayman, he’s ultimately who I would prefer if we were to “acquire” a goaltender instead of draft, but that’s a pipe dream.

Sogaard on the other hand. He’s Bishop and Markstrom sized.

What’s his upside? If this is the prospect ahould we be satisfied or is the real prize the draft picks)

I view his upside similar to that Markstrom or Kuemper tier. In an ideal world he would reach it before he’s 30 like those guys though. Haha. Full disclosure…I’m not in that rt line of thinking that you can just cycle through goalies year to year so I view him as a prize. I’d be very satisfied if he was one of the main pieces in return. Something like ‘23 first, Sogaard, Kleven and maybe another less valuable piece. I’d be fine with that

If we get a goalie, does Prosvetov go the other way? In the scenario where we acquire Sogaard, it's clear who are goalie of the future is. Both would need quality starts as an AHL No. 1. I don't think it makes sense to have both and have them split time in Tucson.

That's my take as well given the 1-year contract. But if we bring in a young goalie now, there is not really a space for Prosvetov this coming season. From a team standpoint, it doesn't even really make sense to use him as the backup in Tucson.

The biggest take away is that GMBA wants to keep Chychrun, he is the type of player Armstrong likes. I wish we would try to bring back Connor Murphy. He would be a good 1st pairing partner and be the leader this team needs.
Don’t know it that’s where BA’s mind is at, but it’s certainly my mindset. Would also love to have Murphy back.

Tendeck's likely going to be in Atlanta rather than Tucson. Prosvetov is probably the Tucson starter, with Gillies as Veggie's backup for the big club. Thornton is probably going back to juniors. So there's a goalie slot open.

Yep, Prosvetov had a good first year, but has regressed since...I wouldn't count on him making the show at all, albeit as a injury sub-backup for a handful of games in his pro career.

He's got to take the next step and as often is said, you never know w/goalies, it's a crapshoot

I'm preparing for one of two things. One being very underwhelmed by the return on a trade before the season. Second for BA to stick to his ask and not have the trade happen only to have Chychrun play disappointed and disinterested hockey through the first half of the season, get injured again and then feel extremely underwhelmed by the return on the eventual deal.

This man has clearly been a fan of this franchise for a very long time.

I wonder what the best 2 or 3 actual offers have been so far? All we have for certain is the fluff being blown by each side's leaks. But I don't remember hearing any concrete offers. But then again it seems its been going forever so remembering everything...

If he's still here I figure we'll see a repeat of last season too. I've suspected Chychrun's sometimes gets in his own head and it really affects his game. He needs to help the team by increasing his own value though. It's because of last season's performance (and another injury) that he's still here.

Edit: Which is also why I belive I'll be underwhelmed with any return too. Hope I'm/we're both wrong lol.

Nothing will change. Chych will get injured and we will find out again that he isn't a 19 goal 50 pt player. His value will be the same, that of a good 3/4D type of return, not a 1D return. BA has over played his hand, hope I am wrong like you:)

Sens fan here, how would an offer of 2023 lotto protected 1st, Zaitsev, Brannstrom, Boucher, and one of Thomson/JBD for Chychrun sound?

If not that, would one of Grieg or Pinto have to be included?

If Grieg and Pinto untouchable, i d rather have 2 defs from Ottawa, than any of remaining forwards.
1-23+2-24+Kleven+Lassi+Zaitsev for Chychrun.
