Nah. I haven't liked Trouba since he has a made a big fuss about signing long term and watching him cough up puck in the jets neutral zone against Vegas

Unless he's gotten a lot better since last year which I don't think he has

Helle isn't getting traded nor is there any reason to, per your original statement

Sure, maybe Helly should have stopped that SHG, but it wouldn't have mattered anyways... because the Jets were never going to score goal #2.

The Jets were not playing great but are still a better team than Calgary.
Rittich stood on his head and got lucky many times and without him the Flames are nothing special.

The knee to Hellebuyck's head was a joke.
Beyond stunned nobody on the Jets retaliated after that.

DISCLAIMER: Not blaming the loss on Helle.
However, he really needed to make that SHG save. Buff did a great job of taking away the pass, AND forcing the shot high. It was Jankoswki ffs. Last year's Helle makes it and we have a chance.

Rittich was great

That second goal by Gaudreau really pissed me off. We just let them dance around.

Kulikov's best game as a Jet, he's really looking strong.

Laine is just a negative right now. If he isn't scoring he's not contributing to the team

Connor looks like dogmeat - I think he needs to go up on the top line for a few games to get his mojo back (as good as Ehlers is doing)

Beyak please come back.

Calgary can't hold Winnipeg's jock - they just got lucky.

Yea Helle needed that save but shit happens......the game had “that feeling” after the first period. We were taking it to them but their goalie was magic.

Honestly I give full props to Sip on Kuli’s turn around because he had the quote of the thread a few weeks ago when he said Kuli is playing great after he got the new Pig Spine inserted in his back. I am not sure why that hit my funny bone so hard then but even now as I type it I am chuckling. It gives me great relief to watch Kuli Myers playing well for a bottom pair like last season.

The most annoying thing about hockey is how narratives will play out now after that game. The Jets were the better team, and by a pretty wide margin. A lucky 1st goal off our own guy, a goaltender break dancing on his head to make Hasek like saves, and a missed infraction to led to the insurance goal instead of a late 5 on 3. But what you'll hear instead is how solid the Flames played and bla bla bla.

Unsure if previously discussed, but doesn't Rittich seem to be wearing very large equipment?
Looks like he's got 5 extra Christmas sweaters on under the jersey.
In any case, he was a wall and the Jets couldn't finish (Finnish?).

The Flames are definitely overrated and their goalie is saving their ass.

The Flames are also whiners.

A huge part of the run E-St-L went on last year was that Laine was on fire. Credit to Stastny for playing well in that role....
Was Stastny even that good with Laine/Ehlers? Did Laine score after the Minny series? Did Ehlers score at all?

Meh, 2 cross bars, a hot goalie on the other side and couldn't buy a PP even though the flames were getting away with murder.

Just one of those nights. Movin' on.

Can someone explain to me how the Flames got a PP after Buffs slash? I mean if that was a called penalty, Gaudreaus goal immediately after should have cancelled the PP, right?

Does it matter? I still want to know if Johnny will be able to play hockey anymore. He took a vicious slash to the arm and shoulder and his he was holding his wrist like it was chopped off. I won't be able to sleep again until mr skittles is back on the ice.

Wait until he gets a big raise I guarantee it gets allot worse. This board is not the only place I hear it at house parties and the games too. It’s his pace of play and turnovers that seem to drive other people (not me) crazy. Don’t worry Buff suffered a similar fate for years.

In Winnipeg it’s much better to hustle, block shots, and try hard (even if you aren’t great) than it is to be an elite shooter that is fighting it and looking a bit lethargic. It doesn’t help that Pate’s body language is the worst in the league when he’s a bit off. Nobody gets more pissed off at him than he does?

Either way he will heat up here again soon and the bandwagon will fill back up again. Lather rinse repeat.
This board is easily the most forgiving place in the city for Laine's play. Everywhere I went over the Xmas season people were highly critical of Laine. Mostly describing him as lazy and a giveaway machine. My thoughts people are getting a little worried we will overpay for a "one trick pony". A few people myself included tended to defend him as he is only 20 y/o, but it sure would be nice if he found another level to his game.
