Player Discussion Christian Dvorak Part 2

The most boring habs player since Ed Ronan
I think I prefered Turner Stevenson to Dvo. Hands of concrete ciment but a heart big like Place Ville Marie.
A player might suck but I wanna see emotion.

Bergevin was up and down, some good, some bad, too much watching TSN but a few inspired moves. His last offseason couldn’t have been worse if he’d let a rival team do it for him.
At least he sucked so much so Habs were able to pick 1rst OA.

Is Dvorak that bad? Last season he was one of their better players but he doesn’t fit because he’s slow.

KK blows ass. The guy hasn't improved his athleticism since he got drafted, it's why he can't handle more minutes. Not saying Dvorak is much better or anything, but at least Dvorak showed something in Arizona, it just looks like he doesn't want to be here at all. Don't even get me started on that horrendous contract extension with KK. Both players are not very good except Dvorak has a better history of doing something.

Either way, this whole thing would have been avoided had we just drafted Tkachuk.
Stop with Tkachuk. There was no way to know if he was a power forward or a 3rd line puncher at draft time.

It's crazy, the guy has skills and has the body to do damage but he's not inspired enough to put it together and do something worthwhile with it. I would at least ask him to hit more or be more physical, he's a strong guy.

It's my perception he is very slow. My general perception is he's bad but in fact he's not that bad. He is strong in front of net and he wins fo. Sometimes strong among the boards. I've been watching this team for so long and for me the identity of the Habs is a fast skating team. So you're right, he doesn't fit with the team. Gallagher was like an orphan last year. He is better this year mostly because he makes things happen by himself, not relying by his center.

Arguably the most vanilla player to ever wear a Habs jersey. He's not good, he's not terrible. He's just there.

Can't wait to forget about his time here, hopefully he gets traded this year. Bye bye mon air bête.
I wonder if he’d attract a suitor given his contract years (he has 2 more after this season) and the cap not going up just yet.

I highly doubt it to be honest and we'd probably have to take a garbage contract back anyway so would it even be worth it at this point... We'll see soon enough! I'm sure Kent has some magic left up his sleeve.

well just consider it like our late first (that we would have had) busted and wipe him out of our memories

Definitely can't make decisions based on the past. The past is the past. It's gone.

Having said that, there's no rush to trade Dvorak. His value can't get any lower, I don't think. And he's not hurting the team/we don't have anyone better to put in his spot. But if he continues not to produce at C, I'd consider putting him on the wing. He has the skills to complement either Suzuki and Caufield or Dach.

At this point, giving that extra money to KK looks like a good option afterwards. At least KK would improve and he had that smile. I can't beleive I just wrote this. But I did.

I prefer Eller and I wasn't a big fan of him. Unless KK have matured in Carolina, I doubt,
But I beleive in potential, to a certain degree. But easy on potential, I'm not a blind beleiver either.

Dvorak sucks. He doesn't help the team to improve and he doesn't help to tank enough. He's the in-between quality/mediocrity that made the Habs sucks for few decades. He's overpaid and he's signed too long term.
I would have been better to sign Danault. But now we have Dach and Monahan. We have prospect Beck and few others. Next draft we might land Bédard or another good one. The sooner Habs get rid of Dvo, the better it is. Dvo will take precious place of a young one.
I wouldn’t say Dvorak sucks. His contract is also fair in my opinion. I agree he’s horribly mediocre however. He’d be a nice touch on a good team that needs 3c.

KK's contract is super ugly though, 8 years at almost 5M/yr. I wouldn't touch that with a ten foot pole and I liked the player when he was here. But on a short term deal I'd rather have him than monsieur sourire for sure.

Thankfully, if everything goes according to plan and we manage to draft a potential star center this year, we'll be set at C for a decade+ which would be pretty nice to say the least.

MB couldn’t match because KK did want to resign in MTL after being bench in the finals. He would have been stuck in the same situation the following year.

The issue was trading for Dvorak on at the same day of not matching KK, He was trading from a position of weakness trying to fill the gap ASAP.

KK could still be a player but 8years at almost 5M won’t be a easy contract to live up too… Especially with everything thing that happen it a big media storm to handle for such a young guy, also with everyone have fight management for every dime in CAR and KK get handed the bag it must be weird, it isn’t a great environment to perform.

Dvorak isn’t much of a play maker he is more of a shooter / good in front of the net. he need to start producing to improve is value but he is a reliable player and great on faceoff snd the contract is manageable so he will always have so baseline value to a playoff team.

It was bad situation. Got out of it best we could. Good chance Dvorak is traded at deadline.

2 more years after this one for 4.5 million? He better start showing something that would attract a contender soon.

I can't think of one single moment where he almost scored or set up a goal in 6 games.

Thank God the rookies have stepped up because most of the vets damn sure haven't.
