Tanev

Polak and Robdias are for cap only.

Too much quantity, not enough quality. You also haven't added any additional value to the return that would warrant the Canucks taking on those two cap dumps.

Realistically, if Tanev was to be traded, it'd likely be for one impact piece in return instead of a bunch of lesser pieces. This is what the fans would prefer, and it matches Benning's "retool" plan.

Question, is there any indication that Tanev would actually be traded or is this just wishful thinking by Canuck fans who want a rebuild?

Because if Vancouver isn't going to trade the Sedin's then I don't see how rebuild is plausible.

He won't he traded for pieces and B prospects. I.e. he won't be sold..

He would be used as a chip to target a real equal value forward.

Otherwise he's a good cost controlled pre-prime player to hold on to.

Tanev and Reilly were a legitimate top-pairing on that team that won the World Hockey Championships last spring in Russia.....and they'd be even more effective together on the Leafs.

I know Leafs fans are all in on the 'draft-only' rebuild....but when you look at the teams that quickly joined the upper echelons of the League, it took more than luck in the draft. It also took a shrewd trade or two along the way, like trading a Tayor Hall for an Adam Larsson.

The only question is whether the Leafs consider themselves a playoff contender 'this year", or are prepared to sit back and wait for "next year".

No way Tanev gets traded. Wishful thinking from a fan base that wants a rebuild and a shiny new offensive toy. Benning clearly wants to win and trading his best defenseman would be bad. When Tanev is out of the lineup this team is a lot different...

This is what I keep saying.
Just creating a giant hole on defense that we can't cover for a few more goals.

Oates2Neely is just upset that he got absolutely destroyed in an argument about Tanev so he's just making outlandish offers to help support his "Tanev is so overrated" narrative.

Be a man, debunk people's arguments instead of being childish.

How close/fair is Kapanen, 1st and 2nd for Tanev and maybe a late pick 4th or 5th?

Condition being the 2nd is the highest of the 3 they own, I believe they owe Anaheim the middle pick.

Gives Van a good prospect who I personally think would work well on a line with Bae and Bo. Gives them a middle of the pack first and a 2nd to continue ton stock the cupboard.

Destroyed is an understatement
