Norris for Peterka
Does it come with a new bionic shoulder?
Norris for Peterka
We will have no one to play on the wings, and Peterka is our best winger now, there is no point in trading him. Norris also has a questionable contract and, as I understand it, some history of shoulder injuries.Norris for Peterka
You’ve won a Stanley cup save me your tearsBrother you've won two lotteries in the past decade, Flames haven't picked higher than 4th overall in our history. I don't think your organization lacks luck, just competence.
Patience isn't the solution. Changing team culture is.
Sure, you can't just make trades to fix the Sabres. But they need a complete overhaul as far as culture is concerned. And that will involve changing the roster quite a bit.
The problem isn't about the players, for the most part. Sure, they could use one or two good SAH Dmen, but so could most teams. Maybe one or two big, nasty, middle six forwards. At some point, though, someone has to wonder at the success of ROR, Reinhart, Eichel, and to a lesser extent, Mittelstadt and Erod(I am leaving out a few others)once they leave the organization.
Problem is coaching, and team construction. They are not consistent, and have no identity, besides being losers. Are they a great offensive team? Tough? Defensive? Heavy forecheckers? Conservative? Answer is that they are all of those things- sometimes. Other times they are none of the above.
Bringing in a couple of players with good talent and huge work ethic would help, sure, but would be futile if the management didn't back them up. I don't think they know how.
fair 'nufAbsolutely not. Shesty is a great goaltender, but our defense would boarder on worst in the league and have no cupboard to backfill over the next few years. In addition, we would need to figure out UPL and Levi
Lindgren would be an interesting bottom 4 option to pursue, but nothing else really.
What they want for Quinn?League sources say the Buffalo Sabres are among the busier teams phoning around sizing up the trade market. I asked Sabres GM Kevyn Adams about that Tuesday, and he said, “I believe in this group, but at the same time I am looking into every possible way to improve our roster.”
Said one rival team executive about the Sabres: “They’re looking to do something big if they can.”
This is not shake it up trade season yet. They have a talented roster It just isn't working with this group. They need a major trade or 2 to shake it up.
What about Norris for cozens? We will have no one to play on the wings, and Peterka is our best winger now, there is no point in trading him. Norris also has a questionable contract and, as I understand it, some history of shoulder injuries.
You can have Karlsson. Ill even fly to Pittsburgh and drive him to the airport.Quality RD, a 2C who isn't struggling would be my 1-2 for what they need.
Don't want to beat a dead horse but I really think something like Brock Nelson for Quinn would be a great deal for both sides. Nelson gives Buff the 2C they desperately need, plus it moves Cozens to the wing. The Isles could use a young player ready to play, and give him time in the top 6. This absolutely makes Buffalo better right now, and I really don't think Quinn is a good fit on their 2nd line on the type of team they want to be.
Thompson is not a 1C on a playoff team, he's far too inconsistent. What is Buffalo looking for? Seems like they have their 1C, 2C, 3 top 4D and a starting goalie. Unless they are trading one of them, what big trade are they looking to do and what position are they trying to upgrade?
Bruins need Tuch...start with Carlo +
The biggest move should be firing Adams.
Maybe the grit/toughness but he and his Comrade Okposo both turned on the fans last year...The Sabres used to salute the fans after wins at home...Well one game they got booed for playing bad so the two of them decided together to lead the team into not saluting the fans anymore....I was all into him because he grew up a Sabres fan but now I want nothing to do with him...Plus I can't stand his Rick Flair "woooooo" when he leaves the ice after a win...Frikkin' annoying lolDoesn't Tuch provide much of those? Odd that you are looking for those qualities and yet shipping one of the few forwards that provide that? Tuch would be an awesome add for a lot of the playoff teams, I would love to add him to the Canucks but we have nothing that the Sabres want (nothing that helps the Sabres that is available anyways).
What are some of the Sabres targets? Buffalo has so many great pieces, you should have no problem getting the players you want/need. I'm curious what you think will help the Sabres turn it around. If ROR (who also provided leadership and grit and some toughness), can't do it, I'm not sure who will.
