I want Neil in. He's been to the SCF, and has been in this position before. Also he WILL settle the score if need be in a CLEAN way

I think Neil will be a very nice positive impact. This is a veteran guy who still plays his role effectively. He'll be fresh, and ready to make the most of this opportunity. He's proud and fiercely loyal to this organization.

LOL. Hab fans in a Sens forum trying to spin the Habs dirty plays as toughness. The Habs won because of excellent team D in the 3rd period. They actually settled down and played a much better team game and defence after Subban was tossed.

If Stone is out, Neil in would be fine. Stone's goals can't be replaced in any case.

I wonder what the NHL would have done had this been a slash onSidney Crosby's wrist??
Also, what would Habs fans be saying if this had been a slash by Chris Neil, breaking Subban's wrist?
Maybe the Montreal Police would be investigating the case??

Neil would be done for the rest of the playoffs and all their fans would call 911

I hope so. He takes way too many penalties though.

I find Neil for the most part picks his spots with the seldom bad one on occasion.
He is nowhere near as bad as Gryba. Gryba's penalties can easily be predicted. I even did so just prior to the call on him in Game 1 while watching with friends. They were shocked that I saw it coming.

That's fine they just need to understand its fair game to slash PK no crying if he gets hurt.

It makes me sad that Neiler isn't playing right now. We had to shorten the bench because we have a few guys that bring nothing right now to the games.

Sit Ryan, sub in Neil. Or sit Chiasson if you don't like that idea.

Both have been useless.

Pretty sure he'll be playing on Sunday. Chiasson will be coming out.

Realistically, what do you guys expect Neil will bring to the game? I think Neil could end up hurting the sens more than helping them if he tries to do much (toughness-wise), habs know very well how to play tough teams. Bruins tried to bully them and the habs forced them into taking penalties and that's how the habs won the series.

And with the way the inconsistent reffing is going, one team tends to suffer significantly more than the other one, that's why I think Neil might end up hurting the sens, especially after his comments the refs might keep a close watch. Though I think a Neil looking to just finish clean hits and not trying to bully/intimidate people behind the scenes could help a lot.

Thoughts? Wouldn't mind seeing a Prust vs Neil fight either, would be nice.

Neil is a fighter yes, but he brings spark to the Team because he hit's every thing that moves. Very few Senators are finishing their checks right now and it's showing.

Neil vs Prust, no brainer, Prust is going down!

Does it really matter?

Even when the Sens players barely touch a hab, they'll flop on the ice like a fish and get the call.

If we're going to be in the box anyways, we might as well give some pain to the Habs to show for it.

The Mcarther and Wier calls were brutal. Mac one resulting in a goal.

Wier's was a total dive.

Neil is smarter in the playoffs (remember his turtling against the Bolts to give us a 6 min PP?). He won't go out of his way to take silly penalties, but he'll play with the right edge to keep the focus on him and get people chasing him. Get him on the PP, park him in the crease, and they'll be so worried about having Chris Neil so close to Price.

If Neil comes in its not to fight or settle a score. He's coming in to bring energy, create space, and make Habs players think extra carefully everytime he's on the ice. We saw in the first last night that the extra attention on Subban caused him to make some mistakes. Then we let off the gas pedal.

Right now Ottawa is not a tough team to play against.

They even dont showed replay on Mac call. Wier call was no brainer, dive or not, stick between the leg. But Hoffman call was huge dive.

Neil's comments was nothing out of the ordinary, he just said basically that the way to get back at Subban is to finish your checks on him as hard as you can whenever you can. Nothing wrong with that, that's how it is in the playoffs. It's not like he said, ''I'm coming for Subban and I'll take a suspension if I have to.'' or something. I have a hard time believing that these comments would be enough for the refs to be on Neil's balls, but on the other hand, you never know with this lame-ass, pansified league and the way it is officiated, even at this time of the year.

That being said, Neil is a very smart player and he knows how to get the job done. If he is brought in, it's going to be to provide a spark and some energy, but he will be smart about it. He's been playing this role in the league for a very long time, and he has never been suspended. I too wouldn't mind a Prust vs Neil scrap, they fought in the 2012 first round when Prust was a Ranger and it was a beauty! :toothless

That's a bingo!

Cameron said earlier today after practice that he's seriously considering shuffling the lines....I think that guarantees us seeing Neil back tomorrow finally.
