Yea Rozy was a rock solid #4-5 D in 13. It was the two year extension that was iffy. And then the one year extension. And then the next one. And then one more after that.

I would say, talking about those extensions I dont think Rozy extended was a movable contract. If John Moore falls out of favor or regresses from a lower tier 2nd pair to struggling after 30, 2/3 years on the deal might not be so easily movable. 5 year length is a deal concern and lots of Devils fans are happy to see him go to same with philly in Manning.

Basically the Hawks pipeline needs to deliver here. There was no winning with this FA crop.

You were either overpaying, or getting someone underwhelming.

That said, I would’ve preferred to see Manning at 1 year

Maybe instead of having a thread about the next captain we should have a thread about the next gm...These feel like Q type players, all vets, not really fitting with what Bowman is trying to build. But Bowman seat will be red hot if they go into the season with the current roster.

Oh, I thought all Flyers fans wanted him gone. At least that’s what one of our Flyers fan experts told us.
In all honesty, Boxcar is the only poster on the Flyers board who likes Manning. To the extent that the running joke on the Flyers board is that he is actually Brandon himself. I'm convinced he's at least a relative of some sort.

Boxy is a good guy, he just watches ManDog play with tinted glasses.

Boxy is essentially how I was with Rozy everyone

Hahaha that’s hilarious, thank you for adding context to this.

It was just funny because our GM-hating poster just said all Flyers fans wanted Manning gone, then Boxcar chimed in.

So does Kunitz have any over 35 bonuses to his deal? I hope not since if they don't move Hossa they would carry over like Sharps bonus is.

Confirming what jray42 said. I came to this thread solely to see what propaganda boxcar was going to peddle to Hawks fans. No Flyers fan who didn't birth Manning or have some other form of relation with him is disappointed in this.

I am here to tell you to install plexiglass shields in front of your televisions because you *will* throw something at it after watching Captain Overaggressive pinch for the 8th time in a game when he had no business to do so in any instance.

So we just blew $5.5 of cap space on 3 marginal "heloers"...Manning is the saviour for our D? Cannot see it...Marginal ...just another guy. ..You trust Stan's "late bloomer/playing his best hockey "assessment of Manning?
Kunitz at 38 ...
is this Tootoo redux? Q will use his vet up and down lineup till he sees he is finally way over the hill and staples him to the bench..Best days long long gone.Getxa "mame"vet way past it and try selkingbtjis to the fans,We gave seen this shtick too much before.

Ward..for 1cyr
.OK ..needed a vet back up
.but he too likely has seen his best days and has not been elite for quite awhile .

I am underwhelmed.

I remember Stan had a surprise he didn't want to talk about on public some time ago. I gotta say his surprises don't impress. What funny is some poster/s imagined that the surprise is John Tavares. Very close.

After these moves I am fine jettisoning Stan. These moves actually hurt the team in my opinion. Q and Stan just have to leave for this team to progress.

He said “I don’t want to ruin the surprise” when Pat Boyle directly asked about meeting with Tavares.

It’s rational of some posters to think that meant they planned to make a play for Tavares.

They probably planned to make a move for a lot of big free agents but people weren’t interested.
