If only Kreider got the leeway every unproven bum of a prospect gets when they come through town. Kreider is the blueprint they should all follow, not to mention he's made a career out of scoring big goals in the playoffs. This is also a weird take after game 10 of the season where he just played his 2 best of the year.
Kreider should not be on a line with Mika though.

It's limited action but this has been, analytically speakin, the best line we've had in what feels like decades.

Breaking them up right now doesn't make much sense.... Also Gallant wont separate them long term

What part of him being the one of the best on a team w 5 v 5 issues is so difficult for you? What part of previous seasons not magically translating to this one is also so hard for you?

Would you like to call jagr back? He also led the team in goals and points/was our best player. Therefore we should just ignore what we see NOW and go on dumb, condescending tangents with brilliant insight like "he had the most 5 v 5 goals in completely differemt seasons" as if there's not more to hockey.

But sure, despite his stats this szn and the glaring issues in his game that reflect his scoring so far this szn, ck has been elite this szn bc he scored the most 5 v 5 in previous seasons.

Makes sense. You totally got me. I'll leave u and Mrs Kreider to head up the fan club now
uh oh looks like he is heating up and playing like he did last year. Who you going to overreact on and cry about now?

Comical the over reaction you had.

On pace for 30 goals and 70 points. Very weird that he’s become the whipping boy.
i mean if you watch him play he can't handle a puck this year... he seems to be building confidence now but after game 2 he looked like a shaky low confidence rookie. He will be fine but he was BAD for a bunch of games this season.

It has to be the burden of the Captaincy weighing him down. Oh, wait...... never mind.

Still early but would love to see last years Kreider on a continuous basis sooner rather than later/never.

I really don’t understand what happened to him. I understand he’s streaky and scores In bunches, but this season he seems to have lost chemistry with zibby and either doesn’t understand what the strategy is 5 on 5 when they are in the offensive zone. He can barely win puck battles behind the net or make a simple pass back to the point when he does get the puck along the boards.

There is numerous times he doesn’t seem engaged and will get caught watching the play while zibby essentially does all the work.

I know he scored tonight on the power play which was nice and he has been getting points but he definitely needs to up his play.

He is trying to think the game instead of play it. He probably thinks it is playing smarter rather than harder but it shows up in 5 on 5 badly. On the PP it doesnt matter because he stays in a 10 foot area. If I was GG I would remind him that he is one of the fastest strongest guys in the league. He rarely uses those advantages. GG should show Gauthier bully through a couple of players and ask CK how come he never does that. In last seasons playoffs I was convinced CK was injured because I saw him give so little effort on some plays. I say that as a big Kreider fan.

Is it me, or has he given up on tip-in goals this season? last year it seemed that was half his goals.

Is the PP set differently this season in a way that is not ideal for tip ins?

No he's still doing them.

Last year a ton of them went in. This year almost none of them are.

He shouldn't change a thing. They're going to start going in again. Not to the point where you're basically scoring on 4 out of every 10 shots on the PP, but definitely higher than the 6-ish percent (I think? it was definitely single digits) that he's shooting at on the PP right now.

He hasn't been good 5v5 since coming back from injury. I'm going to assume that its tied to what ever he missed time for (shoulder?) Hes also gotten into a bit of a rut where hes gliding over to everything and refusing to seal off walls, basically the usual bad Kreider habits that plague him every now and then.

Here
They havent fed him for tip ins nearly enough. Its not a case of him being covered, because he's alone in front most of the time. It may be because teams are trying to take away the middle of the ice when Panarin and Fox step into that area. Seems like they are trying to stop that shot/pass.

Although some of Kreiders deflection goals from last year were on the short side, coming from passes not through the middle. We havent seen many of those attempts

Part of it may also be Mika burying more of the one timers they are setting him up for.
