Didn’t he put his NYC apartment on the market? Does he think he’s getting traded with Trouba named captain?
That’s sounds far fetched to me. Wealthy people buy and sell real estate all the time.

That said, Kreider has been pretty detached this season. (But that’s also a familiar occurrence).

Kreider has always been painfully inconsistent and this season is exactly that. Painful and inconsistent. He remains an infuriating player to watch play.

I’d like to see him get some time away from Kappo. Kappo is not a shoot first player and Kreider needs that type of guy in his line. Kreider is a straight line skater who needs to see the puck go towards the net so he can just go there and burry the puck. He’s not a skilled player and sadly the Rangers have strayed into a skill fest type game.

That being said, his effort is horrendous and if he sore over not being named captain perhaps he should leave his ego at the door.
It's Kreider who should be moved from that line and his ice time dropped, not Kakko. He can go to the 3rd line and they can shoot pucks on net and he can just crash the net if that's the only way he is capable of scoring.

I never said Kappo should be moved. I meant that Kreider should be moved. Sorry if it was not clear.

Good lord are the tinfoil hats out in full force. Do you guys really think he’s pouting because he wasn’t named captain? Stop. If he were, he wouldn’t still be the last guy off the ice after waiting for his teammates.

He’s playing horrible right now, there’s no way to sugarcoat it but he could easily have 5 or 6 goals with how bad he’s playing.

Matthews has one goal in 7 games. Kucherov has 2 in 8.

Step of the ledge you whackadoos.

So wait...the idea that it was a one time occurrence is blown up by the one time occurrence? Makes sense lol.

I literally said neither him or the team was great 5 v 5. The fact he scored the most on the team 5 v 5 would match that comment...he was the best/highest goal scorer on a team where no one's overall 5 v 5 game was really all that great.....thats being the best of the worst possibly. Especially when fsctoring in line time distribution and quality of linemates. Not to mention, there's more to hockey than goal scoring too.

This isn't a new issue, everyone knows we weren't the strongest when even
You realize its not the first time he led the team in 5v5 goals right? Nope you didn't.

Wait...do you seriously not comprehend that im talking about THIS year... or that what he did last year and years prior to this year doesn't magically translate to this year. Like this is common sense...

So is the fact that the following would STILL apply and u had no counter for it.

"The fact he scored the most on the team 5 v 5 would match that comment...he was the best/highest goal scorer on a team where no one's overall 5 v 5 game was really all that great.....thats being the best of the worst possibly. How do u not get that this same thing would still apply regardless of how he did in past seasons. It might apply to last season and those other seasons, too. I mean u gotta use your head a little, cmon

Commonsense is realizing over the last few years Kreider has been one of the best 5v5 players the Rangers have had. Going into a debate like you did not knowing that and complaining about him on 5v5 is simply not knowing anything about the player you are trying to hate on. Your hate can't be translated into actual statistics so you are getting upset. Now you are complaining about comprehension because your key points are wrong lol. Its like though haven't even watched the team the last few years.

I'm as hard on Kreider for his ghosting as anyone but nobody can tell me he isn't hurt right now. I've never seen him so slow and get knocked off the puck with light pushes. He wasn't like that the first few games. Coach needs to stop playing him so much if thats the case.

He scored 52 last year. Was a beast of a possession player for years before that. If anyone is adjusting the narrative here.....
Yes he scored 23 of them standing in front of the net on the PP. He had a great year no doubt, but we ALL knew that was a fluke season. Who is changing the narrative again?

It’s funny some posters always bring out the “oh he’s just playing hurt” narrative when he goes through his big slumps where he doesnt seem to give a crap on the ice. But yet then continues get top line and top PP minutes.

There are posters on here who insist Panarin was hurt all regular season + playoffs last year after scoring 96 points. It's the first ******* week of the regular season, if Kreider was actually hurt they wouldn't be playing him and risking further injury at this point. Sorry, but saying "oh, he's hurt" with absolutely zero evidence or reporting to support the statement is ridiculous. If the bad luck starts to turn this weekend and he pops three goals does that mean he went into a bacta tank and emerged suddenly not hurt? Stop it.

You're changing the narrative. Still.

Fluke of a season last year? Sure, maybe. He's still usually good for 30 goals and controlling play for his line in the O zone though aka a 1st line winger. He was always a beastly possession player along the boards too, and now he can't complete a pass to a moving player more than 10 feet away. He just stopped caring amirite? No, he's clearly going through one of the worst slumps of his career or it's also possible his off season was not up to snuff for his standards after his amazing year and long playoff run. If so, then that's on him. Either way, he'll turn it on soon like he always does.

Stop ignoring the past 5 years of Kreider and only looking at the past 2 weeks.

What part of him being the one of the best on a team w 5 v 5 issues is so difficult for you? What part of previous seasons not magically translating to this one is also so hard for you?

Would you like to call jagr back? He also led the team in goals and points/was our best player. Therefore we should just ignore what we see NOW and go on dumb, condescending tangents with brilliant insight like "he had the most 5 v 5 goals in completely differemt seasons" as if there's not more to hockey.

But sure, despite his stats this szn and the glaring issues in his game that reflect his scoring so far this szn, ck has been elite this szn bc he scored the most 5 v 5 in previous seasons.

Makes sense. You totally got me. I'll leave u and Mrs Kreider to head up the fan club now

For a home grown player he sure seems gets the Roszival/Strome treatment around here. As soon as he's cold or slumps he's attacked. Even last year, 'well it's all tips and PP goals' as if those don't count....

First round draft picks that don’t become perennial all-stars will always draw the ire of fans.

Should've traded him and kept Buch.

Should've traded him this off-season, sold high. His contract will most likely age badly and we had a very good chance of moving him, instead we kept him.

They should bump him down to the 3rd line and use him on the PP as per usual.

But shit won't happen...

We have anchored us to an extremely mediocre top 6 FWD who never realized how good he could've been if he played more physical.

Kreider has all the physical tools to be a great powerforward. But he's too soft and too nice.

I've always liked Kreider but enough is enough. Bump him to the 3rd line, maybe he wakes up then.

If only Kreider got the leeway every unproven bum of a prospect gets when they come through town. Kreider is the blueprint they should all follow, not to mention he's made a career out of scoring big goals in the playoffs. This is also a weird take after game 10 of the season where he just played his 2 best of the year.
