Chris Kreider always seemed to be an elite goal scorer, 3 years in a row he was about a 35+ ppg pace.

He’s just having an insane year. Took the next step. I always figured he’d never live up to his contract but he’s proven me wrong. Wow

I feel like he's kinda doing more with less this season
he's not constantly trying to fly down the wing on a rush or get breakaways or to carry the puck all over the ice or bull people over. He's just moving the puck simply and effectively and really excelling in front of the net. I think Fox being so good at getting shots through has let Kreider really clean up in front of the net as well
I think having him as a primary PK has also helped him

Obviously he'll probably never pace for 57 goals again but I hope we see a consistent 35 goal 65 point player from here on out.

Love it how he put his third away. No rush in the final moments, just a glance at the open corner of the net and nonchalantly poking it in.

Another thing with Kreider that has really impressed me, is that he is killing penalties now and has been very good at it, scoring some shorties in the process. He has become a more all around player.

Who had the idea at the beginning of the season that Kreider shouldnt be on PP1 due to his poor performance on even strength?

No one.

The only arguments I saw were to put him on the 3rd line, but leave him on PP1. And the only reason people thought he should be on the 3rd line at even strength was because more was expected of Laf this year.

If Kreider hits 50, it's a historic season we will talk about for decades. Only 3 Rangers hit that number in 96 years.

Partially by reason of the pressure induced by this long history I don’t think he hits 50 this season, but I wonder if he could be the first player actually drafted by the Rangers to hit 50 ever? (Was Vic Hadfield drafted by NYR? Think the draft began after he started his NHL career…)

Yeah, Hadfield made the NHL pre-draft (1961)
