Player Discussion Chris Kreider

Jones was part of the first 3 along with Mathews and Kane to be announced. The right side is very heavy on team USA.

The build of this team will remind me of the early Olympic teams with big strong wingers like the Tkachuks and Kreider.

The health of Eichel and Hughes is the difference between a medal favorite and underdog.

Jones was on the first 3 players names to the team by Stan Bowman (before he stepped down). He’s already on the team.

I think it’s currently 50/50 Kreider makes it. He is on the bubble for sure. His competitors on the wings includes locks with Kane, Pacioretty, Connor and then Gaudreau, MTkachuk, Oshie, Guentzel, Boeser, Debrincat, BTkachuk, Garland, Terry, Batherson, Robertson.

I dont think Max Pacioretty is a lock. He only played 2 games so far and just coming off a serious injury.. I would say Oshie and both Tkachuk’s are locks over Pacioretty.

Pacioretty has been a point per game player the last two seasons. He’s not dropping behind someone like Brady Tkachuk who hasn’t cracked 50 points. The Max injury is not a factor.

They wanted him on the 3rd line, and off the 1st PP unit in favor of Kakko. Yup. Lol. I am also sticking with Mika, know he will turn it around and the goals will start pouring in, and then they will need a new whipping boy, or will just focus on Strome.

Gallant is the power forward whisperer. Barron, Tuch,now Kreider.

He is making all the good decisions. Somehow his hands have gotten better...seriously his deflections this year have been Crosbyesque.

There was one rush where he did a bank pass off the boards turned the defender the wrong way and blew past him.

His shot has also been more accurate this year. All the things that were raw or held back by his mind...this is unlocked Kreider. He is breaking Graves mark for goals by LW.

Wow people changed their minds on CK. Before the season I said almost every team in the NHL would want CK when some people wanted to dump him. I really find it ironic that almost all CK's goals come from 1-5 feet away from the net and have nothing to do with his great skating speed.

CK is unlikely to continue to score at a 60 goal pace but he has been at a 30 goal per 82 games pace for years. This season instead of 30 goal pace he may end up over 40.

I made a statement a long time ago... that Kreider will age like Guerin or something along those lines ( pre-Gallant )..

right on queue.

Kreider is a beast. He will play well into his late 30's imo (barring any catastrophic injuries ). A guy like Rob Brind'Amour played well into his late 30's with similar work ethic.

We all saw this guy and waited for years to see him finally put it all together.
This will likely be one of, if not the best goal scoring yer of his career. He’s getting the bounces, working hard, and making his own luck.
Keep the pedal on the floor kreids.
Gallants got him motivated.
Wouldn’t surprise me in the least if healthy, he scores 40 this year.
That at least will silence the turds on the main boards that say he’s incapable of being a 30 goal guy or a first line winger.
