The more physically engaged he gets the better he plays. He needs to find ways to get himself engaged into each game and he needs to understand that at his size and speed he should be delivering hits whenever he can.

Finally playing like the guy we thought we were getting after the playoffs last year.
I didn't anticipate him being an agitator but he's showing that part of his game now too.

That's him when he is on his game because he is so strong and big. When he hits and gets involved physically he is on his game.

What I loved about Kreids game last night was the edge he played with. Sure it was great to see him net a beauty, but he was in Flyer's faces all night long, threw the body around - was mixing it up - drew a penalty. He was on the puck and was doing it intelligently. Didn't back down or shy away from contact or the rough stuff. Thats the type of spark this team has lacked.
He's in it now, he's found his NHL game. Just needs to sustain it and play that game consistently and build on it. He's got the size, speed and skill to be a nice power forward.

Yeah, it was great to finally see a player on our team actually pissing off players on the other team. Nice game for Kreider last night.
CK has a bit of an ability to get under players skin. You could see it come out when he was playing really confident hockey at BC. He's looked very good since being recalled. Hopefully the goal last night can keep the momentum going.

Looked very good last night. Playing more aggressively--pissing Flyers players off. There seemed to be a little bit more oomph in his hits and loved his shoving the Flyer d-man back in on Bryzgalov. I don't know if it's a good idea for him to be dropping the gloves yet. Maybe take pointers from Asham first. Not sure he's ever been in a real hockey fight. No point getting embarrassed by a much smaller guy.

There was one play I recall, I think it was the 2nd period of the game before last, where he just got on his horse and galloped up the ice after the puck had been cleared. I don't think i'd ever seen anyone go from 0-60 that quickly. And we have some good skaters on this team.

Last night Kreider did many of the things that he wasn't doing at the start of the year. If he keeps playing that way he'll be much better this time around.

I don't think he's looked GREAT, but he's definitely looked significantly better than he did at the beginning of the season. He looked confident yesterday, which is what he needs to be. A guy who moves as fast as he does at the size he is should toy around with other guys on the ice, and he was doing that.

I also noticed a discernible difference in the way he spoke to the media, the other day. He sounded much more confident, and less like a timid mouse. That is a direct reflection of his confidence, and his maturity. He's getting there....
Love this guy. He has more confidence and is moving his feet more. On top of that you can tell from the past few games he's had that he gets under players' skin. Seems like most of his games he is in the middle of something.

Remembering Kovalev--sticking Larmer on his line did Alex a lot of good. Steve was a very heady hockey player--very productive offensively and excellent in his own end and positioning himself. He was constantly yapping at Kovalev about where he needed to be.
Which is to say Richards has been somewhat of a disappointment at least stats wise his first two seasons. He did help MDZ adjust better last year and playing him on a line with Kreider and Boyle right now does not seem like a bad combination. He might do for Kreider something along the same as Larmer did for Kovalev. To me Chris still has an awfully lot to learn. Missing the training camp experience probably hurt him more than anyone. An on ice in game tutor might be exactly what he needs.

I think Kreider has more game-breaking ability than Stepan. His ceiling is higher IMO. A treat to have two very high offensive players be developed in our system though.
The trip down looks to have worked well for Kreider. Reality check and back to basics.

Just the fact that he's getting more shots on net and finding open places on the ice, chasing down pucks, and holding onto them when he gets them, makes him play 100x better. Earlier he just seemed to kind of wait around for something to happen and then react, whereas in the last couple of games he's been moving around and finding openings and retrieving pucks.
Hope he keeps it up. Honestly he probably has the hardest wrist shot on the team at this point since Gaborik's seems to have lost a lot of zip, so as long as he can keep shooting it, I expect to see him get goals or create goals off of rebounds, etc.

What we've seen from Kreider the last two games is something new. He's displayed a chippiness not associated with his game. He buried Schenn along the boards at the end of the game.
Hey man there's a large number of NHL players who can't play positionally and lose the puck in their feet
Of course they usually continue to be employeed because they also score a whole lot...
