This guy gets it. 5 shots in 12 games for Chris Glider . He needs to bring it and be defensively responsible. This kid is a beast now its time to play like it.

Kreider needs to prove himself.

He was terrible in his time up. I wouldn't have minded if he and JT were in the AHL together building chemistry.

Right now i'm not too confident a combo of them would do much against NHL competition. Here's hoping CK proves me wrong and shows me the play I hope he can be and the one we need.

At the end of the lockout, I went out on the limb and argued that Kreider does not deserve to play in the NHL and he's only called up because he's a highly touted favorite son. People thought I was insane at the time, but clearly Kreider sucked as predicted.

Let me go out on the limb again in another direction. Kreider will do much, much better this time around.

First of all let me say that i respect you and your honesty. I think you make very good/fair posts most of the time. However even if you are right you dont have to pat yourself on the back lol

He wasnt invisible. he was around the puck a lot. he set up at least 4 good scoring chances

Yeah not sure what he's talking about. I guess your invisible if you don't light up the scoresheet every night. First game back up I thought he was very noticeable. Especially compared to his last stint. His legs were going, he was moving a lot better, more involved. He was going to the net. I thought the Boyle line should've got more ice time.

There are a few CK haters what can you do. kreider did all the things he didnt do before. he used his size and speed to get to pucks. I was very impressed with his passing. he actually makes better passes than his two linesmates who are centers. Both boyle and miller missed him like 4 times near the net

There's only one specific play I can remember where Boyle hampered Kreider tonight. Boyle had the puck on his backhand, and Kreider was open in the slot driving to the net calling for the puck. I guess Boyle didn't hear or see him, or saw and decided he couldn't get it there. Either way... what ever.

I'd like to see some changes in the Rangers lineup to get Kreider some better linemates, but it opens up too many holes otherwise.

Kreider - Miller - Zuccarello? :naughty:

Jesper Fast's season is over, let's get him over here.

Does he play with jam??????? Otherwise, he will be watching from the bench.

I think Kreider is going to do good things. When you watch him use his size and aggression, it is evident that he is capable of being quite good.
Not to sound trite or to use a cliche, but it's all in the head and being encouraged to do his best.

He wasn't terrible but he wasn't great. The effort was there, but the decision making was lacking.

I thought he made a few decent plays for the minimal ice time he got.

He set up Miller for the shot that went off the post, had a couple of good rushes into the zone, and was moving his feet the whole night. He wasn't spectacular, but he was utilizing his size and speed unlike earlier in the season.

Still would like to see him use his speed to force more turnovers, though.

Honestly his decisions making was ok. He recovered a lot of loose pucks and set up some nice scoring chances for his linemates

My thoughts exactly.

One thing i've noticed is he does not win many battles along the boards at all which is disappointing considering his size. Miller on the other hand wins most of them.

Kreider was very good. He was much more instinctive, dictating play much more. Led to several scoring chances. In general, he was much better than both his line mates. Miller had a terrible game in terms of decision making and Boyle was... well, Boyle.

The ONLY area where I thought he was lacking was finishing his checks. Which has been a bit softer than you'd like from the beginning. It's almost like he was so much bigger and faster than everyone else growing up that he learned to pull up. It's ok, Chris, you're in the pros now - you can plow them over.

Kreider and Miller both played well, but being paired with Boyle just limits the options. I would prefer Halpern over Boyle. At least Halpern has hockey IQ and gives 100%

Besides gabby's goal Halpern had the next best chance, he got robbed

Bleh. The only way I call Kreider "very good" is if Im comparing him to his stint earlier in the season. He currently fits into the current bottom 6 very well - basically someone who is finding their way and not really doing anything positive out there.

There was one play he made in the neutral zone where he carried the puck and really turned on the jets. You can see how great of a skater he is. My problem is thats the only time you saw it all game. He needs to use that speed at all times if hes going to be an effective NHL'er.

Better, but still tentative. I like that he was pressuring defenders more on the forecheck, and that he was mixing it up physically a bit. Kid needs to get his swagger going.
