Should've been a penalty shot, much like the goal Kreider scored when Kuntz pushed him into Fluery.

Oppossing teams dont realize how fast and strong Kreider is in route to the net.

Dont impede him or better yet try to actually defend him without impeding him and you can protect your goalie.

Kreider is a weapon on the ice.

Definitely a totally different team with him in the lineup.

Really? Couldn't he have just said something classy, even if he didn't mean it?

Why?

What is the obsession with being classy in modern hockey circles?

I mean, I agree that it's preferable that players refrain from blatantly disrespecting the opposition, but, it's an intense, competitive game, and the playoffs are the tournament these people have been training for for their entire lives until now. Be intense. Be competitive. Don't say you're sorry for being better than the pylons the other team puts out to stop you.

to me that was the most telling thing about game 1
how do you stop this guy

he went around subban and had atleast 4 clear or partial breakaways, combined with the fact nash gives him more room

hes to big to control him, his size and speed are unmatched, if he continues to play like he did in game 1 i dont think it matters what montreal does

i mean prust who is there only real tough guy try'd to get into his face and he never even phased him

The Habs are talking **** to try and rally the troops. Its pretty clear that the team needs an outside force to get them going.

Emelin slashes Kreider's knees and he trips. A guy that size, and that speed creates for a lot of force. The Habs are lucky Kreid's isn't the type of guy that tries to injure, because if he was throwing his weight around on big body checks, an entire teams backed would be hurting.

There's just a lot of force when you have a 6'3" 225 power forward that can easily break 40kmph. There just isn't anyway around that.

With all that said, it seems like Kreider is really starting to understand what his body can do in the pro game. For years people have been saying, once he gets it, this kid with his size and speed, once he gets it he'll be a dominant force... and I believe we are finally starting to see that. It's like if David Backes had a 3 extra gears on him, that's the type of player we are talking about.

With posts such as "sit Lundqvist" not even Kreider becoming Howe 2.0 can make you look good. And rookie of the year is a regular season awarded voted on in the regular season.

Be a hate monger, you do not prevail!

Thanks to Kreider, I ALREADY LOOK BRILLIANT, and I didn't even go as far as your "Howe 2.0" comment.

Try to say I'm wrong, when you misquote and are the one in error!
Yes
And rookie of the year is a regular season awarded voted on in the regular season

However, I did say:
"Don't think even if the last game is repeated throughout and we win the Cup it would be enough for rookie of the year, but it will be glorious."

That was an admission that it is too late for rookie of the year.

And, sitting Lundqvist IS the correct move from a tactical perspective, not stupid.
For any of several reasons already mentioned.

If this good luck (be it Divine intervention or otherwise) keeps up, it won't matter. Rangers will buck every odd and win regardless.

Since we are long suffering Ranger fans, I for one won't turn down the Cup.

I think we're wearing Ranger-colored glasses. Were the shoe on the other foot, we'd be quite mad. Intentional or not, Kreider was pretty out-of-control there. Pretty dangerous.

I don't understand this assertion at all. He was going at friggin breakaway speed. What should he do, slow down and let Emelin catch him? Ffs.

If one of our defensemen took out Pacioretty's footing and he fell into Hank, I'd be mad at the defensemen for doing that. He was falling down, he can't control where he goes at that point.

he seems a lot more mature on the ice this season. he knows his job and he does it. nothing else matters when he's on the ice or in uniform. seeing prust whack at him like that and him do nothing shows maturity. not gonna earn him respect, but he did his job

Sometimes the classiest response is silence....followed by an impressive performance.

If I'm allowed one gripe, it's that I wish he'd shoot more, he's got such a great release. But maybe that'll come with time.

I think this guy is going to score 50 in this league. He is the reason this team is dominant now, not so much St. Louis' mom. That just hid the fact from other teams that Kreider came back into the line up and dominated from the puck drop.

I find it hysterical that fans are crying about a guy going to the net. Saying how if someone did it to Lundqvist, AS IF HENRIK IS RUN ON A REGULAR BASIS.

I hope Kreider gets a hat trick tonight, and picks up a Rangers hat and puts it on :)

You ratio of "I'm brilliant" posts to posts that make no sense is one to one. It's pretty amazing. No other poster has nearly as many as you have both. You're quite entertaining even if I do worry about you.

Hold your horses on 50. I'd take 35 at his best.

Love his comment though. Why the hell should he apologize, he didn't do anything wrong.

Saying you're sorry the other guy got hurt is not remotely the same thing as apologizing. It's just basic civility. Saying that his only regret is not getting the goal is inflammatory and immature, imo.

I always liked Kreider and I do not like Lucic or Chara and don't want to see him go that route.
