It says in the article:
medically cleared following a series of extensive tests in New York relating to cervical/spinal issues

Well that's great news. Guess he'll be in the lineup tomorrow.

Just wondering, will Kreider feel like doing anything the next 10 games? Or were those first 10 enough for his yearly quota?

hes completely fallen off the face of the planet since his injury early on...hes not going to the front of the net as much either...

Before the season I never thought this, but I'm starting to wonder maybe we are best off keeping Hayes and Miller, trading Kreider if any big D deal arises.

We talk about the one trick pony phenomenon. He is that. if he doesn't come into the zone with the puck and speed, he seems invisible. Hard to get him out quick with speed with the Dmen flinging it off the boards out of the zone. Totallly neutralizes him.

We've seen him score dirty goals or in front of the net. The 2014 playoffs is a perfect example.

Every generation the Rangers have one of these players with all the tools but not the right personality. We've seen it with Duguay, Kovalev, and now Kreider.

It's never too late and the hope iis that he always gets hot and turns it on for the playoffs, but he is what he is. He'll probably have a decent NHL career, play around 850 games, and get somewhere like 420-425 points.

Early on in the season, he was spectacular. He showed awareness & vision I didn't realize he had in him. He wasn't just a one trick pony. He was also more aggressive on the forecheck and retrieving pucks off dump-ins.

It could be that he has become more timid because his line with Mika and Buch was also on-ice for a lot of goals against early in the season. He might be afraid of making mistakes?

I also think he misses Buch a bit. They had a good thing developing.

Feels like just yesterday people were saying how stupid some of us were for considering trading Kreider over the summer.

Hey, 2 weeks at the beginning of the season vindicated everything. In all seriousness, that glimpse of what Kreider could be if his motor ran every shift is very tantalizing. But it is getting to the point where we have to accept that he is what he is, inconsistencies and all. I think Nash and Zuccarello are the first to go, but Kreider isn't too far behind. Gorton needs to use the Zibanejad template with these guys. Take players whose best days are behind them or they've plateaued and bring back already serviceable players with upside. Does Kreider have upside anymore? That window seems to be closing.

Hard to judge if he's playing tentatively because of his injury or if he's just gone into one of his usual funks.

He's always been streaky; peaks and valleys. But his play at the beginning of the season was better than his usual peaks. Be interesting to see how this plays out.

I mean these 17 games really show both sides of the coin with Kreider. Obviously we saw what he's capable of, but if you only get that in spurts, is he worth it long term? I liken him a lot to Hagelin. He has great tools that make him look like a force when everything is clicking, and if you catch it at the right time, he might be "the piece" that helps lead you to the promised land. However, when he's not on his game, he just leaves you wanting more from him night after night.

Right now the Pens are getting more of the Hagelin we saw during his time here, as opposed to the presence he was during their cup run. Is Kreider going to find enough consistency to be that guy for us, or is he going to leave you wanting when the team needs him to come through? Is it worth waiting around to see what happens when you have an abundance of forwards in the lineup and are in desperate need of an upgrade on the blue line? I'm glad I don't have to make that call.

To be fair, Buch and Mika both helped drive that engine too, so it's understandable why Kreider has dropped off from his insanely hot start.

That being said, he's no longer a rookie. He's a veteran and should know the daily requirements of being an NHL player. Disappearing for stretches becomes less and less acceptable.

Kreider looked the same exact way in college. He was so much better than the guys he was playing with and against it looked like he was mailing it in half the time. Fast forward 8 years and it's the same exact ****. Some shifts he skates like Connor McDavid and some shifts he skates like Tanner Glass's **tarded nephew.

There has to be something wrong with him, he doesn't look the same physically since he was injured, almost avoiding contact.

I feel stupid for saying miller isn't even close to being as good as Kreider. It's just so hard when you see him playing at his best not to be in awe of his abilities . But his inconsistencies continue to be the issue but also possible this "neck" injury may be an issue so still giving him
Benefit of the doubt

He barely has.. never had did it consistently enough for anyone at this point he is who he is nothing wrong with that. He just won't get paid as much and that's fine by me

so my question is, do you look to move Kreider out west for Hamilton or Trouba?

The guy is a great player, but you have to give to get. Miller's been a better, more consistent and engaged player, which is going to trump any amount of potential "skill" one might have.

The problem comes with replacing him, but then again he is a 50 point player--not like that's an irreplaceable number

Had Kreider not done what he did in the Pre-season and early Regular season this year, I'd be all about shopping him around. But that glimpse he gave us with Buch & Mika by his side was unreal. Absolute offensive domination. I'm willing to hold off on trading Kreider. Mika and Buch are young and not going anywhere anytime soon, so if Kreider can find his game with them on a more regular basis, we could have a beastly line for years to come. That would be worth the wait!

This assuming that AV ever puts them back together.
