CK has head spasms... ;) much like Buch...we have to strengthen his brain... if we can rewire him...we have a chance to save his season...calling Dr Phil . :D

Send him out to LA where he can jump out of outdoor swimming pools year round effortlessly .

I certainly would not want to see a Flyer/Bruins/Habs/Pens jersey on him in a playoff series in May/June playing against us. He would instantly become the second coming of Gordie Howe every shift . He is an enigma for sure....cannot see that getting any better at this point....restock the cupboards Rangers....

Agree, would not want to face him in any round of EC playoffs. I just hope that he's sparked again.

All I'm getting from this is that after this, he has one more HOT game left and then a long streak of COLD will follow. Should these patterns hold, of course.

I admit this is pretty stupid, but the pattern I saw last week was that a two game point streak or two game pointless streak marks the start of his famous hot/cold streaks :laugh:
 
All players go through hot and cold streaks. He has 20 points in 24 games, which is far better than he has produced at any other point in his career.

I want to highlight this because I think that people are missing the boat on the type of season he is having. He is 4th on the team I points and has played 6 games less than they other leaders. 20 points in 24 games is nothing to sneeze at. The fact of the matter is that Krieder is having a very, very good year.

Here's the problem. We can all agree that points are awesome. They are! It's awesome when our players score and when our players get points! Celebration! :partytime:

But when Kreider is not scoring, he's among the most frustrating players on the team. He lacks engagement and takes shifts/games/days off. Then something will click a few weeks later and he'll score again. And do things.

We need him to do things when he's not scoring, TB. He hasn't done much of anything his entire career when the points aren't coming. It's incredibly frustrating because he should add something to the game other than points. He is so fast that he should be a good PKer. But he's not. He has a minute and 53 seconds total of SH TOI this season. This is a big bodied, fast, player that can play physical when he wants to.

I like that he's our leader in terms of shot attempt differential, but his takeaways are practically non-existent and he's middle of the pack in terms of giveaways. He has a skillset of raw tools that should be much more useful to the team than what he ends up being.

This I can't really argue with. That said, I agree that while there are frustrations, I am willing to live with them on this team.

Takeaways and giveaways are awful, awful, awful stats. Completely subjective to whoever is doing stats in the arena that night. Also, here are your giveaway league leaders this year:

This is essentially a list of people in the NHL who have the puck a lot. What we really need is giveaways per touch, but we don't have that, and it still doesn't negate the fact that giveaways are a **** stat to begin with (NHL version).

And I think it is the fact that his toolbox is sooo tantalizing that on the games he doesn't show up, it is that much more noticeable. Every player has their good games and bad games. even the greats. Kreider just stands out more, both good and bad...

I get that, which is why I just look at our team (and I still realize that there is volatility looking that way). At least that way is decided by generally the same guy on a given night without the volatility of comparing league-wide.
