Winter is coming :sarcasm:

On pace for 50 in 68 which is 61 in 82.

Currently ranks 12th in the entire business in corsiREL and 6th among wingers.

You don't even need the corsi. Anyone with two eyes can see that the ice tilts violently when Kreider is out and the Rangers are going downhill.

He always had the body but he's learning how to use it now. He's becoming a smart player.

I never subscribed to the notion that hockey IQ is unlearnable. Elite hockey IQ like a Gretzky for example is just instinct, but you can learn be a smart player. And Kreider's a smart kid.

He's a very smart person, but IMO he's never really ever going to be a really smart hockey player. What he can do to alleviate that is play to his strengths--speed and physicality. He has a pretty good set of hands--so if he does those things he can be a really productive player. We've seen more signs of that this year--he usually is a slow starter. Not this year but he got set back by injuries. Hopefully he explodes in the second half.

13th in the league among forwards in points/60 (7th among wingers)

10th in the league in possession (7th among wingers)

Just a little bit more than human. Human+.

The Av announcers mentioned something that only Marchand and Kreider had accomplished since 2014 season goals-points-150 penalty minutes ....not sure of the first two amounts...did anyone else catch it ?

No but I feel like I've heard that stat somewhere before...

I don't see what combination of PIMs, Goals, and Points can be something that has only Kreider and Marchand. Hockey-Reference

Yup he's heating up again.

Very tactical move turning it on full blast vs COL. He knew he could molest that defense and he imposed his will on them.

We may not see this for a full 82, but every Goddamn playoff game Chris. Every Goddamn playoff game. Suspensions are your respite.

Don't wanna get ahead of myself here or jynx anything... but is anyone still trading him before Miller AND Hayes?

Come on, now.

I don't much get involved in trade speculation, but will admit that I wanted to trade Kreider last season. Bern and I would go at it over this, lol. I'm enjoying the crow Kreider is force-feeding me, lol.

Having a lot of PIM itself is not a good thing. However it's usually indicative of a guy who is physically involved. For a big, tough, power forward-type like Kreider, he's going to end up with a lot of penalty minutes just from playing a speedy, physical game. If he's not picking up any PIMs it's likely that he's not as involved as he should be.

Kreider racks up a ridiculous amount of reputation PIM. Defenders can shove him into their own goalie whenever they want a free powerplay.

He's succeeding because he's playing to his strengths. A lot of times he would move away from what makes him so good (size, speed and shot) and try to play a finesse game, which he's just not suited for. As long as he doesn't break away from that he'll continue to put up points
