Reading between the lines I'll say Kesler just wants somebody to come in and kick Getzlaf in the ass, maybe Perry too. Everybody seems to keep overlooking this quote..."We need a coach that holds everybody accountable - not just certain guys." You don't say that because the coach is letting some fourth liners slide.

100% agree. Exactly what I thought when I read that.

That line is pretty damning. Give that man the 'C' and slap an 'A' on Cogs.:handclap:

Kesler just endorced Carlyle how does that make you feel

Kesler hasn't played for Carlyle in a very long time. Back in that time, his system probably worked a lot better than it does in today's NHL. His method is outdated and we can't rely on Kesler to tell us otherwise. What he wants in a coach is bang on, but Randy is not that guy. You just want a return to bang up physical big bad ducks hockey.

Also keep in mind that Kesler knows RC is a legitimate possibility to be his next coach, he's not gonna publicly trash him. It wasn't really an endorsement, he just said he's a good bench coach.

Good point. I sort of took it this way was well.

Great comments from Kes, he had the balls to say what so many of us have been tossing around for years. Let's hope his words create a ripple effect.

And I agree with the above comment to give him the 'C' and Cogs the 'A'. Let Getz just play the game.

Can't wait to watch randy match lines incessantly, stick with a game plan with no adjustments and piss off everyone....I miss that:naughty:

By the same token, Kesler has shown he isn't averse to sabotaging a team's plans when he doesn't think they're advantageous to him. I wouldn't necessarily dismiss his comments as mere prudence.

It seems to have worked that way for him in Toronto. Gotta love Game 7 against the Bruins. Can't find a better example of a great bench coach than that one.

John

I'll take Kesler's word. He certainly knows a hell of a lot more about Randy Carlyle than I do or anyone else here

But we know what happened to the teams under Carlyle over the last few years. And honestly, as a fan, that's all that matters to me.

I don't care if he personally provides the entire team with foot massages after every game or is a great guy to grab a beer with. Since his cup with one of the best rosters assembled in the cap era, he and his teams have been on a constant downswing.

To be fair, look what he had to work with.

If Hunter is out, there aren't really any great candidates left. Based on Murray's comments, I doubt he'd bring in a coach with no NHL experience, which would rule Green out. I'd put my money on Carlyle or Yeo at this point.

Ugh bleh and bleh. Would not want to see either.

Don't want Carlyle or Yeo. Carlyle is the lesser of those two evils though.

Really wanted Hunter though it's a shame he's not leaving London.

Either of those guys being the new Ducks HC might cause me to lose my balance on the fence and fall onto the fire BM side of it.

It would be nice if Murray decided on a coach prior to the draft.

A new HC might want to have some input on offseason roster moves, however minor the input might be ... :dunno:

They might as well get used to not having any input right at the start, just like the last two, wouldn't you think?

I'd go shopping for a nice soft mat to land on. Nobody out there is going to look better than BB when they get hired. Unless they get further in the playoffs than Bruce did, it's hard to see people thinking it was a good hire, no matter who it is.

Bob should have done a better job of helping Bruce get over the hump. Because I can't see how this is going to turn out any better than the past 4 years have.

But it does buy him a couple years job security to see if it will turn around.

Well, given that some coach will likely get at least a two year deal OK. But if next year doesn't go well, this place will go nuts pointing fingers in every direction, although I suspect most will end up pointing at Bob. The team is out of time, the best players are trending the wrong way and a whole new coach, system, and set of personalities will be trying to mesh next year.

I'm not predicting anything, but it's far from given that things will only get better.

If we actually hire RC, we'll be the laughing stock of the league. I bet we don't make the playoffs next year and end up picking in the top 10.
