Please just be an interview and he's not one of the front-runners.
Clown show in full effect.

I'm hoping this is just Murray doing his friend a solid, and throwing him an obligatory interview out of respect. I can't see anything logical about Carlyle coming back here other than "encouraging" the twins to waive their NMC's.
Does this mean the pendulum has swung the other way and Murray is going to hire Carlyle, then fill the team with soft, 1-way scorers?
What's Erik Christensen up to these days?

I'm actually not totally against Carlyle, but I am completely against Carlyle with Murray at the helm.
If for example we got Brian Burke back and he commits to building a team for Carlyle, that could be fine.

What's Wilson up to? He's done pretty well when he's got a decent team to coach. If there was one former coach I'd want back (other than Babcock which simply isn't going to happen) it'd be him.
Anyone but me think this could be a political move?
Maybe he wants Getzlaf/perry to waive a NMC or Getzlaf to take his offseason training program more seriously and the Carlyle interview is a threat?
Yeah, I know I might be stretching here, but given Getzlaf/perry history with Carlyle, it's hard not to think there is an ulterior motive.
And I agree, that Carlyle seems like a terrible choice for this team.
Getzlaf and Perry can careless, they are probably kicking back drinking some brews right now eating some donuts and **** laughing at this fiasco.
I can't believe they're even considering Carlyle. Seriously, I can't.
That's a joke, right?
RIGHT?

Trying to look at this with a glass half full. Our current forwards are actually right up Carlyle's wheelhouse.
Dominant First Line: (Perron) - Getzlaf - Perry
Offensive Second Line: X - Rakell - X
Defensive Third Line: Cogliano - Kesler - Silfverberg
Grinder Fourth Line: Garbutt - Thompson - Wagner
This was my first thought too.
