It absolutely helps female hockey, any exposure for the younger generation is good.

She was definitely good enough in Bantam to be drafted as well, she was a better player than many of her male counterparts who were drafted in the league. The problem lies in that it is going to be ~2 years until any of them begin to play in the WHL, and using any bit of developmental knowledge, she isn't going to have the development, anywhere close, to her counterparts.

The Giants understand this. The 13th pick may have been passed anyways, absolutely nothing wrong with picking her for exposure. Nobody picked in the 13th is going to ply regardless

This whole debate seems goofy to me.

I only popped on the last page here because I was wondering why it was still going on two months after the picks. I guess some dudes can’t it let go.

Aren’t these picks often shots in the dark for players who for obvious reasons won’t play in the league.

If she could hypothetically play in the WHL, if she’s that good at hockey should would want to preserve her NCAA eligibility.

Only one player on the 2022 Canadian Women’s Olympics team didn’t play in the NCAA, Mélodie Daoust went to McGill.

You can’t find a gi spot in Montreal? There are tons. GB, BTT, Carlson ect.

I can, but not ones near me. Theres one spot and Id rather not go there anymore.

There is GB on Notre-Dame but Ive heard so-so comments from friends.
It’s not my main spot but I’m usually there once a week.

The head instructor Bruno gave GSP his BB and is without a doubt the most credentialed gi instructor in the city

I guess it depends what you are looking for.

All i'll say after ignoring most of this thread her being drafted to major junior male league, to me shows there should be more programs for the female athletes and better development programs to provide better opportunities for female hockey players to excel at the sport we all love and want to see grow
