Chicago
The last time Chicago picked 1st overall it worked out pretty well.
No chance KD trades that pick, he’d be chased out of town with pitchforks.

And we can probably all remember how Kane was supposed to be just a finesse player who gets bullied. It didn’t seem to bother him.
I still remember my buddy telling me Kane would never be able to withstand the physical play of the playoffs. I still remind him of that from time to time.

Just curious, but if Chicago HAD to trade him (let's pretend he hypothetically hates Chicago for some reason), and you could't get McDavid, but any other single player was made available... Who would Chicago fans go for?

1-for-1 only.

This is all a bunch of nonsense. Just say you’re a jealous Wings fan and be done with it.:laugh:
I'm a f***in pissed Red Wings fan. Chicago has done just about everything possible to be a f***in disgrace.

Dollar Bill Wirtz almost killed the franchise and they get lucky with Kane and Toews and then the disgusting Beach stuff is followed by them getting the best prospect since McDavid.

They can't keep getting away with this.

It's not going to happen, but if a deal 'had' to be done for the first pick, I'm pretty sure that Anaheim's response would be "Pick two" out of the four pieces you want (and might even be "Next year's first and one other"...). Conner will probably be great, but at this point in their rebuild, he may not be the 'one big piece' that they really need (that being a large 1C). They certainly aren't going to gut their rebuild for one player, no matter how potentially great he might become (again, were presuming that a deal 'has' to be made for whatever reason).

I’m just going to have fun with this:

Chicago fans, what do you think of this proposal:

2023 11th, our 2 3rd round picks
2024 1st, 3rd, 4th (we have no 2nd rounders)
2025 1st, 2nd, 3rd
Lekkerimaki
Hoglander
Silovs
Boeser

For 1st overall pick Lol

I agree I don’t think Bedard is worth that much but if he was Chicago would be stupid to elect to choose 1 player over building a dynasty

Well sure, the problem though is convincing the other team that gutting their roster really is the best way to succeed.

Who'll bell the cat, etc...

bolded - correct

I have no doubt bedard is going to be mcdavid-esque. Not going to argue this. I just see that he has great speed and a weird release of a shot that he is perfecting. He seems to have time and space in the canadian league he was in (granted he may be creating that space, as well) that fantilli didn't get in the NCAA. Bedard will be bullied in front of the net because he is a finesse player, which isn't a knock on him at all, it's just how he plays.

His shot is great, but I think actual nhl goalies will be able to prepare for it because they study film a hell of a lot more than minor leagues. Mcdavid has 50 bags of tricks for his shots and etc. But from everything I have seen, bedard has the one shot with some dangles that they love to keep talking about.

Could I also be jaded that the molesting franchise Chicago won the draft after not having to own up to anything and not having a franchise player for 3 months vs the red wings getting shafted every draft for the past 7 years? Yeah, maybe. But if you really want to go back in my posts from a few months ago, I was sayin the same thing with both of these guys.
What should Chicago have owned up for?

I think he means when the 6'3" 215lbs thug on skates was allegedly molested by that 5'9" 160lbs video coach against his will.
The problem was that Aldrich had some level of sway over Beach because of his position in the organization and Beach didn't resist because of that.

It's easy to say that Beach should've beaten the shit out of him when you're not in the position he was in.

It just irritates me when uninformed people cast Beach as some poor little victim when in fact he was a big bruising jerkwad.

With all the hype you're probably going to have to frame a trade that resembles the Lindros trade
