Boo hoo, the guy who had his agent put a picture with a knife in his back from the Knights didnt get told he was being traded is having a pity party? Once that picture got posted he deserves nothing of the sort.

I really hope this is not true. If it is, at the very least this fragile little baby needs to follow through on his attention seeking BS and retire immediately.

I'm sure this was already answered, but why didn't LV ask for a draft pick back? Was it more-so just them trying to dump the cap hit?

Vegas dumping salary.

Chicago was wary of Fleury retiring, so didn't want to give up draft pick.

Value of $3m in cash retention isn't lowered though. When the alternative appears to be Fleury not reporting and Chicago paying him $0.
That's fine I am not really interested in having him back anyway. Kuemper, Gibson and others i'd be looking at.

The NHL have to look into what Vegas ownership paid Blackhawks ownership. It's obvious that Chicago only did this to cap relieve Vegas.

So Vegas just ditched their longest-serving star goalie and didn't even think to mention it to him?
Very strange situation

So he did know about the trade. This changes things, but still they should have called him this morning.

Its been known for quite a while Fleury wanted to retire a Knight. That automatically means he didn't want to be traded. Im thinking this quote is just reinforcing that but I guess it could be referencing a more recent reiteration of that desire.

All that reveals is that Fleury said he didn't want to be traded, not that he was informed about any specifics.

I hope Vegas never wins a cup but keeps coming close and making moves like this. What a way to treat a guy that basically started your franchise.

You think he is going to give up 7 million, the opportunity to stick it to Vegas in the playoffs, and further burnishing of his HOF resume?

I don’t. He is not going to say so right away as he does enjoy the sympathy and loves playing the martyr.
How will he get that opportunity with Chicago when they don't make playoffs?

I read that tweet as "retire to Pittsburgh". Not to come here to play.

This is like The Godfather scene near the end .

Our friend and associate Hyman Roth is in the news. The high court of Israel turned down his request to live there as a returning Jew ..
He landed in Buenos Aires last night offering a gift of a million dollars if they let him stay . They said no. His passport has been revoked except a return to United States .

He’ll try Panama next.

Panama won’t take him .Not for a million, not for 10 million

That's the thing about a goalie. No single player on the ice determines their team's fate more than the goalie. Could change Chicago's outlook for next season if he can backup his Vezina/Jennings performance.

Fleury has 493 wins to Patrick Roy's 551. He needs 59 wins to be 2nd all time. No chance to catch Brodeur at 691.

I think he plays for 3 more years and passes Roy quite easily barring injuries.
