With Eriksson Ek, Rossi looking much improved, Dewar being a pretty excellent 4th line center, and Freddy G under contract until the summer of 2028, I'm not in a rush on Stramel. Not expecting him to push to be on the team until 2026-27 at the earliest.

At this point, I'm going to say Stramel is edging on a bust already. No points in 4 games and injured. Looks like Gillies all over again.

Definitely not an encouraging start. My issue with the Stramel pick is that Guerin said they identified him as their guy in the middle of the season. Hopefully they don’t continue to employ such tunnel vision in their scouting

The only good news is their two second round picks. But yeah, I don't know what's going on with Stramel, but I think Guerin had a huge swing and a miss there. This whole regime makes me think of Risebrough.

I think they saw big RHC who had been projected Top 10 at one point and got blinded by everything else.

another possible red flag was the GM being visibly and proudly drunk when he announced the pick

It’s been 4 games. Relax
I think it’s completely fair/valid for people to think he’s a bust/have their opinions. He’s done nothing to prove that he isn’t a bust. 3C on this Badgers team is nothing to brag about. I just watched 3 shifts from the WJC game again and everything about Stramel was not good. Nothing stood out except for the below average skating, compete, and a turnover. I still don’t like the pick.

I can’t think of one quality besides his size that stands out as good. From the guys picked 22-32 I’d say the majority are looking better right now.

I'm clocking in early on the this is a major bust take. Luckily, there's a couple of the other guys taken in the middle rounds in the previous year or two that are looking pretty solid. I'm just going to put expectations there.

4 games and 3 shifts? Maybe hold our proverbial horses.

I haven’t been a huge Stramel fan, but honestly I think he will be a solid NHL player because the problems with his game are coachable.

So put me in the “not a bust” camp.

Why do I get the feeling that there’s going to be another Boeser vs Eriksson Ek situation…
Any news if he’s playing tonight? SMH
I sent Todd Milewski a tweet asking. I’ll let you know if he responds.
